LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Allan Bedford
(...) As I mentioned in another follow-up to this thread... the website is already there, why not at least collect *some* free data? To not do this is simply a wasted opportunity. (...) Why go there, when they make big product announcements on (...) (23 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Tim Courtney
(...) Agreed. Its still not an accurate cross-section of the entire LEGO customer base ;-) Nonetheless, it would only benefit them to make more surveys available. (...) Good point. I don't know so I can't say - what product announcements have they (...) (23 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Benjamin Medinets
(...) I agree......I visit the site just to see if there is any update...which to me is sad, because they rarely do. It seems to me they spent big bucks implementing a decent web site, but decided to make do with sporadic updates. If they really (...) (23 years ago, 11-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Allan Bedford
(...) The front page of LEGO.com should be updated no less than once a week, and preferably more often. How many of us enjoy CNN.com, or CANOE.com or LUGNET.com because the content changes so regularly? LEGO should make their website *the* (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Richie Dulin
(...) [snip] (...) But according to your estimate, LEGO.com already gets 10 times the hits of LUGNET. Clearly, it is *the* destination of choice. Doing 10 times better than the nearest competitor would seem to be pretty good, wouldn't it? Cheers (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Allan Bedford
(...) You have a point. I guess I should really try to make myself understood better, it seems my points are getting lost in this thread. Not sure why, I usually have no trouble making myself understood. My point was... that event though LEGO.com (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Richie Dulin
(...) LUGNET is (part of) the competition for LEGO focused internet time. It doesn't need to be selling anything. Cheers Richie Dulin (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Allan Bedford
(...) So they make product announcements on a website that is drawing visitors away from their own site? I ask again... does this make business sense? Help me understand your point Richie, you've lost me. :) Regards, Allan (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Richie Dulin
(...) LEGO know that (say) ten times as many people end up at LEGO.com, but another small but significant group end up at somewhere else. Now, maybe LEGO.com could become LUGNET Mk2, but we may not like the implications of that happening. They (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Allan Bedford
(...) O.K. So far so good. (...) Mk2? You lost me again. (...) You're probably right. But having a chat forum on their website wouldn't be breaking any new ground. Martha Stewart has them. How does she deal with negative comments, and you know there (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Richie Dulin
(...) Ummmm... offering the same facilities as LUGNET? So fans would hang out at LEGO.com rather than LUGNET? (...) Actually, I don't. I've heard the name mentioned, but haven't a clue what she does. Sorry. (I guess I could go to marthastewart.com (...) (23 years ago, 13-Dec-01, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Scott Arthur
(...) The fans who "hang out" here are mostly adults. Some of us even use adult words from time-to-time. I expect that if we were to see a discussion forum on lego.com it would be aimed at a younger market. Lego would be crazy if they were to design (...)          Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care? (WAS: WHY SO LONG ON BULK BRICKS?) —Mike Timm
(...) One way of looking at it is thus, we here on Lugnet tend to hardcore, rabid fans that once we see an announcement HERE, tend to go there soon after (for the pictures man! :^) At the very least I know that I tend to go there to confirm that (...)         The Lego Website [was: Re: LEGO... are you out there? Do you care?] —Thomas Garrison
(...) I'll agree that lego.com isn't terribly interesting. . .the only part I might have been interested in was looking at the Castle stuff, which specifically is not viewable without going through a Flash waste-of-time (which doesn't seem to like (...)
