Re: Why the absence of LD in their own newsgroup?

(...) I really have to agree, limiting where they can post was one of the absolute most unwise policies instituted here. It makes the newsgroups extremely unwelcome to Lego representatives, and why would we do this after complaining quite vocally (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Why the absence of LD in their own newsgroup?

In lugnet.lego.direct, John Rudy writes: [snipped,] [source message] (...) I guess I'll third Tamy here... This is an interesting situation, butnot one that seems to be overly long and complex. In simplicity, I think there's one soultion to this (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Why the absence of LD in their own newsgroup?

I'll second Tamy here. LUGNET has become downright beligerent in it's treatment of TLG Staffers. Restriction is unfair, and tantamount to segregation. "You work at LEGO, so you can only use these drinking fountains..." This isn't fair to TLG or the (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Why the absence of LD in their own newsgroup?

Not to be nasty, though if I were LD or Lego, I'd be a little miffed about being controlled as to where we can post.. and only able to post from official Lego addresses.. and if FBTB is giving them free access to answer anywhere, I don't blame them (...)   Why the absence of LD in their own newsgroup?

Jake, Why are you answering people's questions on FBTB, but not LUGNET? I ask because the lugnet.lego.direct group was created for open dialogue, yet LD's posts are now rare and limited to marketing announcements. -Suz Suzanne Rich LUGNET Admin (...)   Re: Anyone know just what the "conditions" for having an account are?

(...) Yes, Same to U.S. I tried to open the account with LEGO for my business retail online store, but not meet their requirement quality and policy. You can allow online sales, but must have least 30 storefront in 3 different zone (ie: Southeast, (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Poor Service to Toy Shops = No Lego

(...) There are more than just soccer moms who refuse to shop there. (...) Sure there is - help make it worthwhile for LEGO to cater to the smaller retailers. If you can afford it (and I suspect a good portion of the online community can), spend the (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Meanwhile in Europe... 1) Distribution to independant stores. In the Netherlands most toy stores belong to a few chains. One of the few left independant store owners alwys complains when I talk to him, about how LEGO can't deliver in time, in (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Poor Service to Toy Shops = No Lego

(...) I Know TRU's do not get their stock directly. Everything TRU sells first goes to a central wherehouse and is distributed by truck to each store from there. So maybe thats why there is a delay? But I always hear of new sets at Wal Mart long (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Poor Service to Toy Shops = No Lego

(...) I've always been of the belief that just because something *is* a certain way, doesn't mean that it has to stay that way. I find it tough to accept that the LEGO company would allow themselves to be seen in this light. I heard a similar story (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)
