It may not be as hopeless for all independent toy store that wish to sell Lego. There is an independent toy store here in Calgary, Alberta that does sell Lego, and they stock quite a bit of Lego. Also, I was able to pick up the Studios Monsters sets (...) (22 years ago, 2-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) I regularly go to a toy store in Keene, NH (Toy City) & the manager of the store knows that I'm a Lego fanatic & he lets me see the yearly retail catalog when he gets it. I went by our local (favorite) toy store yesterday. They have always carried a great selection of Lego and generally carried some shop at home only sets. There was NO LEGO. They had dropped all Lego from their store! I asked them why, didn't the (...) (22 years ago, 1-Jun-02, to lugnet.lego.direct) !!
