  Re: train windows

(...) I'd guess molding and printing are two, very separate, parts of the production process. They (probably) don't run a single line to mold and print, all in one shot. Instead, they do all the molding in a run, warehouse the pieces for a bit, and (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Check your LEGO Direct Packing Slips...

I thought I didn't get the discount, but then i noticed that the prices were different, ie: instead of $7.99, it showed up on the slip as $7.19, etc... (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Check your LEGO Direct Packing Slips...

Well I just got my order (And it was what I expected to get thanks to all the messages here) but there was a problem on the packing slip. I looked it over briefly and noticed that I was not credited the 10 percent bulk discount for ordering 10 or (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general)

Re: Does anybody actually know Mr Justus?

(...) That would be nice but I think new tooling is out of the question. Very expensive, and this has to be done on a shoestring so it's only incurring minimal fixed costs or it will not make money. I'm hoping that they will use tooling not (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Naming conventions

(...) That would be fine too... IF it was one rather than many, and IF it was shared with us. ++Lar (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Does anybody actually know Mr Justus?

In that case, those weird shaped roof pieces are exactly what TLG need to consider including in the next LEGO Direct update. Also, I would consider adding a test of sorts if I were TLG, and have inward and outward sloping low corner bricks made up (...) (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: train windows

(...) You hit the nail on the head, they are almost certainly not making the train glass for the window. (24 years ago, 22-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: train windows

(...) What about if we restrict the sample to "8 year old kids who would order from Lego Direct"? I bet MOST of those would notice. (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Does anybody actually know Mr Justus?

(...) I dunno, as kids my sister and cousin and I used to use all the (red) weird shaped roof pieces to make complicated roofs with right angles, L's and dormers. Nowadays though, kids might not since the required weird shapes are less common. Kevin (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Maybe they goofed before this and bulk ordering was a way to unload the doors. (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: train windows

(...) Except for one problem - has there EVER been a set with plain clear 1x4x3 thinwalls? No printing at all? What about a set with red-framed, GREEN-paned doors? I don't know of one. Quite a goofup if the accidently cast red frames instead of (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Naming conventions

(...) Hey, that'd be great... if they provide pictures to go along with the part names, like Partsref. In the meantime, Partsref seems to me to be the most useful thing out there to make sure we're all talking about the same part. Lego can call (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Naming conventions

(...) Do they have an internal naming convention? Is it in english or danish? Why are the thin walls train windows according to them? They were used in a lot of places. I doubt they have anything that formal. If they do, I'd certainly like to hear (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

  Re: Naming conventions

(...) As opposed to the naming conventions that LEGO has used internally for years? How about, instead of suggesting that LEGO change the way they refer to parts, why not ask them to share *their* naming conventions with the AFOL community? JohnG, (...)   Re: Got my other order wrong (Re: Got my order wrong)

This is particularly worrisom also. I know I'm right because their website advertises 172 pieces, which is the count on the outside of the larger box. But when I call, I worry that they'll think I'm trying to pull a fast one. The sales rep I talked (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Re: Does anybody actually know Mr Justus?

(...) OK, go ahead. Everyone knows I'm arrogant anyway. Personally I think it would be shrewd of them to target the market exclusively to AFOLs with mundanes as a secondary interest.   Re: Got my other order wrong (Re: Got my order wrong)

I just got my order for 2 sets, and found 2 small plain white boxes. opened one of them and thought it didn't look like 172 pieces. I was impressed on how quick they got my order to me. 3 days, standard shipping. they did upgrade to priority mail at (...) (24 years ago, 21-Jun-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)
