If you look at the proto photos it appears that the tires are as big as
the wheel if not a little more. The wheels I ended up using are closer
to that.

Having reread the thread, it appears to me that you've used the wheels
from e.g. 8868

These wheels are smaller than the ones from the Black Cat (5571) and
look much like the larger ones from 8860.

If you can get the wheels from 8860 (and 8865), though, these might be

fact, they're almost exactly the same size as the 8880's wheels.  I
think the diameter is approximately 10 studs.

I'm honestly not sure which wheels I used. I will have John Neal read off the info on the side of the tire next time he's there, if he would be so kind, or I will, next time I am in Minneapolis, which may not be for a while... But they either were (...) (25 years ago, 29-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Well, I checked and.....you used the 20x30 wheels, *not* the larger 24x36. You *must* go LARGER, grasshopper. -John (...) (25 years ago, 1-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) Those ARE nice wheels but I feel that the tires are not tall enough in proportion to the wheel for this application, the wheel is 6 of those 10 studs, and the tires are only 2 each side (or so) If you look at the proto photos it appears that (...) (25 years ago, 29-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)
