That seems a good upper bound. Front end loaders come in all sizes,
from tiny buckets that can't hold much more than a wheel barrow mounted
on bobcats and kubotas, through tractor mounted ones on up to monster
mining ones that are too big to fit on any low loader and can fill a
normal dump truck to overflowing with one scoop.

I'm slowly building a mine truck to go with one of those front end
loaders...the truck is 16 studs wide x 32 studs long and uses the wheels
from 5571.  If someone has built a front end loader that scale, and if I
LDraw the mine truck, maybe we could make some cool scenes?

Funny you should mention that, I was at Conan's on Thursday and I built
a mine truck cab and chassis but didn't finish the dump body.

It has a V10 engine (2x2 rounds for cylinders), and a tilt platform to
cover the engine and front wheels and house a cab. (think of what the
classic Tonka Truck looks like) The platform is almost two minifigs off
the ground, it takes 3 ladder sections of ladder from the front bumper
to the top. The radiator grille is 4 ladders wide and 2 high.

Front wheels steer, rear wheels have a differential. I considered using
5571 wheels, had a set of 5561 wheels out, but ended up using wheels
that have the older solid smooth hubs. I THINK they were from

but I can't be sure, Conan has so MUCH stuff it's hard to tell where
stuff comes from. The tires were solid foam rubber with a dense cell
matrix. One in front, dualies in back. (thought about 2 axles for the
rear but decided one was enough)

5571 tires IMHO have a tread pattern that is a bit too "on road" for a
mine truck. These tires have a nice knobby pattern.

The truck is about 20 studs wide and maybe 30 long, I forget exactly. I
have pictures on a camera I need to get developed.
