Blimey! How did you build up a collection like that???? You
must have spent a fortune on it. *envy*
The only reason I got 5 bricks was because I had a lucky break
back in the 18th century. An old friend of mine was in danger of
getting caught with his Lego - you remember back in the days
when if you were an adult and you got caught with Lego and didn't
have an excuse (like
you had a child under 5 who wanted to play with them), you'd
get flogged in public and drafted in to the Navy. Anyway, at the
time I was looking after this kid so it was legit for me to have the
Lego so I looked after this guy's Lego while the Imperial Guardsmen
were searching his house. (Bit of a waste in the end - he just got killed
a couple of years later when the Iron Age men invaded).
Anyway, as I was saying, by way of thanks this guy gave me some of
his Lego. The set 3455932 Rat Tarrying Bubonic Plague Virus, if I
recall correctly. (No hang on, I think it was 3455936 English King, including
10 Mistresses. Classic set, that one).
Anyway, I think that was how I first got into Lego. Actually.
Anyway most of the bricks got lost over the years. To be honest I threw
out some of the specialist bits once in a fit of rage when I realised that
you couldn't use the 1x3 plates in places where you needed 2x2 basics.
*sigh* those were the days before TLG introduced the general-purpose
bricks that you could use anywhere.
Anyway, like I was saying, most of the bricks got lost, but I managed to
keep a few of those 2x4 basics. It would take a lot to make me part with those.
