    Digital Photography —Frank Filz
I've been thinking about how to get my Lego website going, and with how long it takes me to get film developed, and then scanned, I think I need to go directly digital. I do have options though, I have a WinTV TV/Video Capture card. What I'm (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

        Re: Digital Photography —Tom McDonald
(...) Not that you'd go this route, but there are several places in my town that'll transfer my pix to diskette while they're making prints. That's how I've been doing it. I've seen some video cameras that get really close, like one or two inches. (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Digital Photography —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) I got my Sony Mavica for about $700; they also have one in the $400-500 range. The main attraction to a Mavica is that it uses a DOS-formatted 1.44 Mb floppy diskette with JPEG files, so you don't need to worry about special software or (...)          Re: Digital Photography —Todd Lehman
(...) We've love our Mavica! The old one was damaged, but it was a good excuse to get the new model... I can't imagine ever going back to traditional film photography. Carrying around a pocket full of floppies is pretty fun too. Say, BTW, did you (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jun-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

Re: Digital Photography —Jeremy H. Sproat
(...) Wow -- I wonder if their technology 18 years ago was up to par with the digital video cameras on the market today? Knowing the tricks Sony can pull, I suspect it probably was. Anyone know the story on higher-res (> 640x480x24bit) digital (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jun-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish, lugnet.off-topic.geek)

          Re: Digital Photography —Mike Stanley
(...) Hrmmm.... do you mean digital video? Dunno about that, but digital still cameras surpassed 640x480 a LONG time ago. (25 years ago, 30-Jun-99, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

         Re: Digital Photography —Mike Walsh
Keep your eyes open for digital camera based on Sound Vision ((URL) technology. My company (Mentor Graphics) helped Sound Vision design the chip set (shameless plug) that is the brains of the camera. Although SoundVision does not plan to market the (...)          Re: Digital Photography —Frank Filz
(...) I wonder how hard it will be to actually get a picture like that one of the quarter. If you look carefully, it is obvious that the depth of field is extremely short (it looks like the picture was taken at an oblique angle, but still the depth (...)          Re: Digital Photography —Christopher Masi
Frank points out the one of biggest problem with digital cameras, the best point and shoot digital cameras have distortion problems that are totally unacceptable by 35mm SLR standards. I heard about this company (URL) that is developing a film (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jul-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

         Re: Digital Photography —Adam Payne
If you do a deja search on rec.photo.digital. I did after I first heard of Imagek, and found that they've been promising their EFS product will be ready "real soon now" for the last two years, constantly pushing back the deadline for release. (hmmm, (...) (25 years ago, 1-Jul-99, to lugnet.general)

        Re: Digital Photography —Rob Doucette
(...) You've got a few options: 1. Get your film processed onto disk, CD-ROM, or the Kodak Net. I'm sure Kodak's web site has more info, or go down to your local Kodak film developing drop off (not the instore developer) and inquire. Pros: cheap. (...)
