Is there a thread that discusses this fellow? I seemed to have missed this.
Or is this a joke?

The reason this set was a "sculpture" instead of a "model team" set is • because
sculptures are under the "Lego Direct" umbrella, and therefore have some • immunity
from that dastardly fellow in Billund that controls the colors that can be • used
for any particular part.  I doubt you would have seen red curved railings • if this
set were a model team set.

Hi all,

I received my Shopwith Camel set today and made a few images using my
Mindstorms webcam. The quality is not that good and I don't have enough • time
for a complete set review either. For a few shots, please check this • link:

http://www.brickmaster.de/Sopwith/index.htm

Highlights:

No completely new elements but certainly new color-shape combinations.
Lots of dkgrey, red tan and brown, many plates. COOL details on engine,
cockpit and chassis! But - Grr - extremely large stickers (close to • 7191 but
not that many).

Not a typical sculpture set, but a welcome model for every LEGO • collection.

I am so anxious to get mine. Here in the US it shows that it will not • ship
until the end of May. It does look as though the model has some great
details. I'm curious why this was presented as a sculpture instead of • one of
the Model Team series. I am a Lego Train whacko by default but the next
thing on the list for me is Model Team. There are so many possibilities • for
new sets and nothing but that racing truck that came out last year. If • Lego
keeps coming out with nice "sculpture/Models" like this one I may pull • out
of what I fear is the start of my first Lego Dark Age...
