  New parts for 2001?

Looks like cool new parts for '01: (URL) "landing pads/feet" for small pod just below the main ship. They look more complex than a simple 1x2 plate, and they don't appear to be click-hinge plates. The arms may be new parts, too. Is that a 1x2 brick (...) (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) I think the "feet" are the 1x2 plate with click-hinge like in the B-Wing set (you get tan ones with that). I think the "legs" are new parts that interface with the click-hinges. (...) Yeah, those fans look kind of fun (...) The hoses look (...) (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) I'm pretty sure it's the square street sign piece, but in grey and without any printing. eric (24 years ago, 25-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

"John Kornhaus" <jkornhaus@xperts.com> wrote in message news:251020001321529...rts.com... (...) It appears to be the same Juniorized "hingeless" cockpit that is popular with space port to me... I got my hopes up also, only to be let down by the new (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) Ii is still possible that they might be click hinge plates. Look at 7311, it looks like they introduce a new click compatible bending arm series of parts. (...) I think it is not that piece, it is e new one. The one from Sebulba's pod is a (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) I think they are just rectangular traffic signs clipped on 1x2 brick with handle. Selçuk (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) But it is used *way* more effectively on the I.S. than it was on such memorable sets as the 6453 Com-Link Cruiser. Steve (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) I have spent some time looking at 7106 ((URL) Could the large cylinder be a plastic wrap? It would be a disapointment. Look at 7315 ((URL) - that half cylinder looks like a thin piece of plastic held in shape and in place by a few pins into a (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) Me too. I guess they'll just be used for atmospheric craft. I still kind of like the shape, so I'll probably acquire at least one, just so I can check it all out. ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) Possible but I don't think so. If you look closely at the bottom of the cylinder you can see cutouts for studs so my guess is that it is good old ABS. Eric Kingsley (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) You're never going to let me live that Muffin Head comment down, are ya? hehe. =) (URL) =) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) Heck, I'm probably not going to be able to live it down after I slap that "muffin head" hairpiece on my mini-me fig. :^D ~Mark "Muffin Head" Sandlin (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) Look closer - the feet are 1x2 click plates. The arms look like 1x2 versions of the current 1x4s with click ends. Main ship - large white arch bricks, should make some people happy. (...) Not to mention they look about the same size as the (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) And the guy on the 7310 doesn't have gloves on, unless they've gone back to using yellow on uniforms (like Unitron, or Classic). Still, other people have non-yellow hands... looks like trouble. The colourblind monkeys must be very proud of (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

Looks to me like a plastic sheet, and the holes at each corner (and middle) fit over Technic "ball and socket" pins - look carefully on the INSIDE of it at the top, you can see the holes of a Technic beam showing through the sheet. (...) -- | Tom (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) Yup, noted the feet were actually click plates in the clearer picture of the movie studio sets. The arms look rounded rather than like small versions of the 1x4 brick with click ends. I think they'll be more like click hinge versions of the (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) My 2 cents. The martian set, 7315, is a wrap and the Escape Pod is a cylinder. (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

"Tom Stangl" <toms@netscape.com> wrote in message news:39F89477.B089A1...ape.com... (...) IMHO, they _are_ the very _same_ parts used as junctions for the tubes in the base set. (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) It's true for the Mars transport aircraft, but in 7106, I don't think so. Besides I think 7106 utilizes the same part that used in Alpha Team bad guys base set. Look at the part between stupid rocket launcher vehicle and the prison cage. The (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) Similar OK, same no. Look at the positions of 8 studs on top of each part. Selçuk (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) Good eye on that one. Yes, I think it looks like a 1/4 8x8 cylinder panel in the Alpha Team base. Also in 7106, notice how the cylinder perfectly follows the curve of the bottom 8x8 round plate. I don't think a plastic sheet would be able to (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

(...) I think they are different parts. The brick in 7313 is 2x4x3 with some kind of connector in the middle for attaching the fan blades, probably standard technic cross-axle. The brick in the mars base appears to be 4x4x3, and could not have any (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)

  Re: New parts for 2001?

Yeah, my bad. Now that I look at it, they are probably different. I was thinking that the blade attached using some other internal submechanism with a non-studded attachment. But that does not account for the extra row of 2 studs that appear on the (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
