Possible but I don't think so. If you look closely at the bottom of the
cylinder you can see cutouts for studs so my guess is that it is good old ABS.

| Looks to me like a plastic sheet, and the holes at each corner (and middle) fit over Technic "ball and socket" pins - look carefully on the INSIDE of it at the top, you can see the holes of a Technic beam showing through the sheet. (...) -- | Tom (...) (24 years ago, 26-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
