It's true for the Mars transport aircraft, but in 7106, I don't think
so. Besides I think 7106 utilizes the same part that used in Alpha Team
bad guys base set. Look at the part between stupid rocket launcher
vehicle and the prison cage. The part is just under the living dead
standing besides the small helo thingy.

I have spent some time looking at 7106
(http://collectibles.echostation.com/fbtb/2/sys16.jpg).  Could the large
cylinder be a plastic wrap?  It would be a disapointment.

Possible but I don't think so.  If you look closely at the bottom of the
cylinder you can see cutouts for studs so my guess is that it is good old ABS.

(...) Good eye on that one. Yes, I think it looks like a 1/4 8x8 cylinder panel in the Alpha Team base. Also in 7106, notice how the cylinder perfectly follows the curve of the bottom 8x8 round plate. I don't think a plastic sheet would be able to (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.general)
