Interesting Article about LEGO collecting —Thomas Main
In the August 2000 issue of Antiques and Collecting Magazine, there is an article abour LEGO collecting that highlights Brian Styles' (LUGNET member?) collection. Of particular interest is the statement that Mr. Styles insured his collection of 700 (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interesting Article about LEGO collecting —Marina Artamonova
(...) Kinda off topic but i was wondering... how much do you guys spend on Lego per month? It is addictive, and now when I jumped into it (BrickBay, bidding on eBay) i realized that i spent quite a lot for just one month on Lego... hmmm... got to (...)          Re: Interesting Article about LEGO collecting —Frank Filz
(...) Yea, me too. Certainly if I had an unlimited budget, there's a bunch of sets I'd have by now. Instead, I just patiently wait (I'm on my way to a 2nd 4563 for example, or how I got my 6286s and 6285s). I did just blow a chunk on K- Mart's BOGO (...)         Re: Interesting Article about LEGO collecting —Eric Kingsley
(...) Well I would say that when I first came out of my "Darkages" I didn't manage it to well. I spent a ton on LEGO for about the first year building up my collection. Now I have tried to manage things better. For me Brickbay was a godsend in that (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interesting Article about LEGO collecting —Bradley Dale
(...) I'm 13 and don't get a lot of money. I can usually only spend $20-$30 a month, whihc is my entire allowance. Except in January it is my birthday and I can get a few hundred dollars. Plus I don't live close to a store that has LEGO, and I have (...) (24 years ago, 13-Sep-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interesting Article about LEGO collecting —Joakim Olsson
I spend way to much money on Lego(About 300$ a month) Maybe it's because i recently came out of the "Dark Ages". I manage this because i have my own company(in the computer business), with the option to buy Lego without paying VAT. I try to sell (...) (24 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interesting Article about LEGO collecting —Reinhard "Ben" Beneke
(...) Since I left my (not too) dark age four years ago, I've spend in average 500 $ per month. :-( That's the bad side, but during the last 12 month after a move my appartment seemed too small for my collection and I started to sell stuff that (...)         Re: Interesting Article about LEGO collecting —Gary Istok
(...) Well, for me, it has been about $400/month for the last 2 years (damn German EBAY!). And prior to that, it has been about $200/month (since 1980!!!). Gary Istok (24 years ago, 14-Sep-00, to lugnet.general)

(...) Yes, but Kurt is bidding on it. :-) Unless it is going for a rediculously low price, I think I better let others bid on them for a while. I now have a few of these.
