Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Christian Lindblad Rasmussen
The following is taken from a Danish newspaper that had an interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen last week. After the summer vacation all products will be sold in the internet. Lego has received close to 10000 e-mails asking for this - a week! "This (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general) !

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Todd Lehman
(...) I wonder if something was lost in the translation here. :-) --Todd (24 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Frank Filz
(...) Well, the phrasing is awkward, but I read it as "working for Lego last year was not fun because of the 1000 people laid off, now that we are past that, it is again fun to work for Lego". More (programable) electronic bricks sounds like fun (so (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Todd Lehman
(...) Ever play the game "Complete the Sentence"? After laying off 1000 last year, it is again fun to working for Lego. Again to anticipate next year, 1000 more go not without fun. After laying off 1000 last year, it is again fun to working for (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Larry Pieniazek
      (...) 2000 in 2000, eh? :-( ++Lar (24 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Todd Lehman
(...) Ambiguity is half the fun in playing the complete-the-sentence game (especially on CEO quotage-fodder :-). ...We forsee for this year 2000 to become history with strong results. ...To forsee continued fun, for this year, 2000, which we (...)           Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Susan Hoover
(...) Todd, these are funny. Are you running them through Babelfish, perhaps? Or does your twisted mind come up with these phrasings on its own? (24 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Todd Lehman
(...) Thought them up while washing some dishes. BTW, I love Babelfish for that sort of thing, and I've noticed that it mangles English->Italian->English very nicely. --Todd (24 years ago, 27-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Christian Lindblad Rasmussen
(...) This is exactly what I meant. Thanks Frank. (...) I think the interview suggests more supplementary packs rather bulk sales of bricks. (...) Christian (24 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Mike Stanley
(...) As nice as those things are, maybe it would have been nicer to offer to hire back some of those 1,000 who were laid off because the suits ran the company into the ground to the point of losing money for the first time in its history. Unless (...) (24 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Alan Gerber
(...) If they want to be bigger than disney, then why are they making disney sets? Alan (24 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Ben Roller
(...) If you can't beat 'em, join 'em (and then beat 'em when they aren't looking). I'm just suprised that there are no Coke sets yet. Maybe after they get Disney off the ground (a year or three) we'll see the Coke sets. Ben Roller (24 years ago, 25-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Interview with Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen —Randy Miller
If translation is a possible problem, then I think Lego's goal is to be the leading family brand AFTER Coke and Disney. (I would think McDonald's is way up there too.) If that's somehow a realistic goal, I'm more than happy at any such attempt. (...) (24 years ago, 28-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)
