I just ordered two 6441 sets.  I was a bit puzzled to see that the piece count,

I'm used to seeing.  Both boxes were the same -- no piece count.  So, TLG broke
the law?

Possibly the fact that you got them from S@H makes a difference.  Since it's not
a traditional retail store, it may not be bound by the same laws.  Or no one is
enforcing a good law in a silly circumstance.

I've seen non-US sets (without piece counts) at ZanyBrainy and KB retail
stores.
(I got a European 8480 Technic shuttle at ZB and saw some non-US model
team sets at KB)

Did you enjoy the non-North American catalog in the sets?

The best is the Legoland brochure that I got in a European 6091 ..
haven't seen anything like it in US sets, unless you count the Legoland
CA ad in the 2000 catalog.. no separate brochure, though.
