Maybe in your area.  In Sillycon Valley, a SHORT Interests section gets you

Here in NoVA it's pretty much the same as SV, and I'm in the internet/software
industry too.  When I look at a resume', I couuld care less about their
hobbies and interests, I'm looking for skills and experience.

I use the interview to assess their personality and communication skills.
Just about anything is fair game to bring up in an interview, but you have
to play it as you see it.  Certainly if you see LEGO in the interviewers
office you shoulud bring it up.

A quick search on google turned up this bit of advice:

(hobbies is #7

Again, not in Sillycon Valley - all I ever get is people in shock, then...
"Cooooool!".  Or people stopping by, telling me they have been walking by my • cube
for months marvelling at all the sets.

And at least 4 other coworkers in my immediate area now have Lego in their • cubes
;-)

Nerf and Lego are legion in the engineering world.

Hi,

Do you people include "Lego enthusiast" under the heading "Hobbies &
Interests" in your resumes?
