Re: So why all the whining about the color changes?

I haven't said much on the issue, but every time I see a new dark "grey" brick my stomach turns because it a) doesn't match my old bricks and b) looks like a blah color to me. It just doesn't look right. Every non-afol person I've told of the change (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Bulk Bionicle tubs at TRU

(...) Mm, could be... but on looking at the types of parts included, several are from sets introduced just last December, and some of the masks were never included in sets outside of promotions with McDonald's (sand Akaku and light brown Kakama (...)   Re: Bulk Bionicle tubs at TRU

(...) My theory is this. TRU maybe had a lot of overstock of older Bionicle sets. I bet they called Lego and said they didn't want to buy more if they had all this overstock. So they probably worked out a way to repackage the sets into this huge (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.technic.bionicle, lugnet.general, lugnet.market.shopping, FTX)

  Bulk Bionicle tubs at TRU

A couple of days ago, a (URL) BZPower> reporter (Michael) ran across a very interesting new product at Toys R Us in Virginia. The large tub of assorted Bionicle pieces in many colors contained 702 pieces, and we're not talking about little 2x rod (...)   Re: So why all the whining about the color changes?

(...) Too True Dave. General Comments/Rants 1. There is another side to the "color doesn't match well with my collection theory" and that is that a) I don't think Lego cares about AFOL's in general or their mounds of bricks to start off with b) I (...) (...) Sometimes when things don't go our way, we like to yell as loud as we can in the hopes that 'the gods may be listening....'   Last chance for real grey -- My message

I just bought 70 packs of light grey - both to send a message, and to ensure I have enough to finish off my Union Station.... (URL) note, Lego company.   So why all the whining about the color changes?

I started a poll with the basic question: "How long before the Lego company beats a shame-faced strategic retreat and returns the old grays and browns permanently to production?" (URL) So far, over half have answered "Never". If you believe that (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Clubs/Events - Tips and Tricks

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

(...) As I understand it, the models at LEGOLand are glued which would make it very difficult to replace just a few bricks if dammage occurs. I imagine that if they need to repair a building or other model, they will simply build an entirely new one (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: How have the new colors affected your recent buying decisions?

For myself, I will carry on buying sets. I may wish for old colors, or even colors they don't make (yet :), but I will make do with what I can get. I try to keep the fact that I am co-opting a children's toy to my AFOL needs in the back of my mind (...) (22 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.general)

I'm not buying any saets with the new colors in them.   Re: The perfect reissue

(...) How about the Blacktron Battrax? The only grey parts in it are technic axles and pins :) I'd buy at least a couple of the Battrax if it were reissued. It is my favorite old space set after the 6950. Mmm...Blacktron... Adrian (22 years ago, 19-Mar-04, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.general)
