Re: LEGO Mentioned in Business Week

  Missing/malformed pieces?

Has anyone noticed an increase in missing or malfored pieces in the newer sets? Within the past two weeks I've found the following: - minifig head in Space Port bonus pack missing face - 5 light gray 1x1 bricks missing from Flying Ninja Fortress I (...) (...) I've gotten a few heads that look like they were double printed, they are all blurry. Also, it could just be me but I don't think the new bricks line up as well as the older ones did. -eben (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Reissue Solution: Colors

Nothing can ever replace the original, but there is a demand for, a market for and thus potential profit in releasing a classic series. If TLG just monitored this network, they could formulate a group of sets to produce. Based on the demand of (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  LEGO Mentioned in Business Week

I am doing this from memory, I don't have the article handy ... forgive me if I don't get the details exactly correct! On page 60 of the current issue of Business Week (2/15/99) there is an article on the the expected impact on several toy (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Reissue Solution: Colors

I've read discussion about the desire for reissues of various sets, (apparently) especially the classic space sets. The only problem (other than Lego not doing it ;) seems to be that it would be bad for collectors, who would lose the value invested (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: 20 year evolution to get to... where we started

(...) It's on the low side, I'd say, especially considering that there are as lot larger pieces on the new one. (the dome appears to be usefgul in Mindstorms context as a reflecting m,irror for the IR port - haven't tried that yet, tho) jasper (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  RE: Mindstorms Available in NZ

They're called slizers in the UK as well. Oddly, our catalogue has two pages about them, but doesn't show any pictures of any of the sets at all. It just says the Slizer are coming. There's also no Mindstorms in our catalogue, although both Slizers (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: 20 year evolution to get to... where we started

The picture of the 6463 looks like a space age hair dryer to me. Sit under the gold dome, and when you are done, you have a gold dome on your head. And with that....I'm off to bed. Julie (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: 20 year evolution to get to... where we started

(...) Agreed. Mine too. But unlike in LC (which used the same visor but the standard town helmet) the new helmet has issues. Either way for me is springy. One a little, one a lot. YMMV. (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)

  Mindstorms Available in NZ

I just popped into Toyworld Takapuna in my lunch break and was amazed to see a Mindstorms box on the shelf. According to the nice lady at the counter they've decided to to bring it here, and it arrived yesterday. She also showed me the 1999 NZ (...)   Re: 20 year evolution to get to... where we started

(...) Well...I don't know about the inflation rate, but also consider that the newer set probably has parts that are more expensive to make - the gold-plated dome thingy and visor [1] for instance. That said, I think my ideal set would be a (...) (26 years ago, 10-Feb-99, to lugnet.general)
