Re: The legendary Terran homeworld (Re: Prototype Starship Bible Work-in-Progress)

Personnally, I'd rather that Earth didn't blow up. After all, I am kind of fond of it :-) I think the best way to do it is that the real Earth was lost in the mists of time, and any one of the current "Terras" could be the real thing, or none of (...)   Re: Rules?

(...) Hey there. I believe that this sort of thing is entirely up to the SMs (and in some rare cases, the GM). It entirely depends on how willing the SM is to let you get away with things. For example (a very long one, but bear with me), in Helix, (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

Re: The legendary Terran homeworld (Re: Prototype Starship Bible Work-in-Progress)

(Not sure where in this thread to reply...) I have the possibly unique situation of having a detailed history of my homeworld (Valyance in the Val_Central Sector) that in no way includes any mention of a place called "Earth" or a solar system of the (...)   Guess who's back?

Ry is back! No, I do NOT like Eminem, either. :<P Anyway, nice to see we got a lugnet group! It sure makes life easier posting-wise. Down to business! * I have been asked about getting up a sector page for Nomad. I will be doing that soon, but if (...) (21 years ago, 14-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

  Re: Rules?

(...) Sup (...) Well, seeing as i wrote the rules, I figure I might give a hand here. The rules on the site are the best put way of describing the boring part. I guess I forgot to put in all that blowing stuff up part, but I thought that be obvious. (...) (21 years ago, 14-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

Re: Zac's gonna join and has some ideas!

(...) Indeed. Your Sector 62 was quite the inspiration! (...) On the old message board, we had spent all last autumn discussing issue like this. Currency was one of the first items we put to a vote (as was the name of the game). There were several (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

  Re: Rules?

(...) I think Dan did a fine job of answering this. Basically, each Sector Mediator runs their own Sector/Adventure however they wish (provided they do not violate the rather basic Galatic Rules ((URL) Most SMs run their sectors much like Dan, using (...)   Re: Rules?

Welcome to Starship! I hope you join... Anyway, to answer your question: When a player (a person who creates a ship to adventure in someone's sector) wishes to enter a sector, the Sector Mediator states the rules of that particular sector. Some SMs (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

  Rules?

Hi! I've been checking out the new Starship RPG game and i must say that I am very interested. One problem though, were are the rules for blowing things up?, can't seem to find them on the webpage. Thanks for yor help fellow fleet commanders! (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

Re: The legendary Terran homeworld (Re: Prototype Starship Bible Work-in-Progress)

Well, I purposely started in 2050 that way maybe we dodged a couple of disagreements. And my Terran history pertains only to North America until Earth explodes. I did that also so that other people who started on Earth could make up storylines for (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

The legendary Terran homeworld (Re: Prototype Starship Bible Work-in-Progress)

(...) Very tricky, so that at the end of our historical record, in the dimly lit and dusty farthest reaches of our history, we may well disagree on where Earth actually is or what happened on it. Indeed, I bet some folks would happily wage war over (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

  Re: Prototype Starship Bible Work-in-Progress

Mmm, I think starting from the very beggining is a bit risky since some people's version of what happened might differ from other's. For example, many people's organisations would of evolved from an official Earth goverment in stress, and there (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

Re: Idea for Saving Space on Starship Site

(...) Actually, I think both issues are potential problems. I will look into the BS account option AND I will probably cut the registry into two or three pages. -GMH (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

Re: Idea for Saving Space on Starship Site

(...) I think he meant that the page was too long, not that it took up too much hard drive. He wanted to divide the registries into different pages to sace space. -JHK (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

Idea for Saving Space on Starship Site

Hendo, you once mentioned that the images and such for the Starship site are taking up a lot of space. Why don't you host the pictures on Brickshelf and link to them using HTML? Make a Brickshelf account and upload the pictures there. For instance, (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

  Prototype Starship Bible Work-in-Progress

Over the past weekend when I was feeling ok to work, I made a preview of my Starship Bible for my Terrans, Mars Federation, Try'nexu, and more that are still to come. I've still got a lot of work to do, but summer's coming and I can do it then. (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)

Re: Zac's gonna join and has some ideas!

<snip> (...) Well, we already have a galactic currency. While some sectors don't use it, they must offer an exchanging system if they wish to use their own. (...) I'd love that!   Re: Zac's gonna join and has some ideas!

Hey Zac! Glad to see you're getting back into the whole RPG thing. Lemme tell you, even though I didn't get far in S62 (lol), it was still the greatest inspiration to Starship: Spraw. Without you, this whole thing never would have happened. As for (...) (21 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.gaming.starship)
