  BrikWars in DC (WAMALUG)

I had a great time at my first game of BrickWars at Brickfest 2000 this past weekend. Unfortunately, it just whet my appetite for more. I'm wondering who would be up for a game in DC (probably this would be WAMALUG members). My next few weekends are (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.org.us.wamalug)

Re: Pirate Game Postmortem (Was: Re: Brickfest)

(...) I think we'll go for something like every 2nd turn rolling for a speed change and every 3rd turn a direction change, or something along those lines. If it will help anyone I'll keep track of how many turns we run for and how I handled the (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Pirate Game Postmortem (Was: Re: Brickfest)

(...) They were added a week or two ago (a few days after I received paper copies). (...) I think changing every turn might be too much, but in our game, the wind changed direction once, and more than half the game (13 or 14 turns or something - I (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Pirate Game Postmortem (Was: Re: Brickfest)

(...) Just found the GM tables on his site, I didn't see them a month ago must have added them recently. We had a fun time rolling for wind/speed changes each turn, added the factor of having to adjust direction of our ships almost ever turn. On the (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Pirate Game Postmortem (Was: Re: Brickfest)

(...) Ahh, I hadn't had a chance to re-read through the rule books yet. (...) The way Steve handles it now is that he has a chart of pre-generated wind, and you pick a random starting point on the chart, and you roll a die each turn, on a 5 or 6 the (...)   Re: Pirate Game Postmortem (Was: Re: Brickfest)

Hi All, Mind if I join in? :-) I'm thinking about possibly running a game during PNLTC's big event during the summer, kind of "adding on" to our event to include a Brickfest of sorts and I've been actively following along trying to gather ideas. (...) (24 years ago, 14-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: Brickfest

(...) One thing which you may not have realized initially was how close to the beginning you arrived. It probably would have been worthwhile your just jumping in right away. I think you're right though, a new player probably shouldn't be placed off (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming, lugnet.pirates)

Re: Pirate Game Postmortem (Was: Re: Brickfest)

(...) Of course. (...) Actually, I wouldn't want to compress the inch any. The pistol fire was difficult as it was with a -1 per inch. Compressing that would make pistols almost useless (gee - I have no chance of hitting someone on the other side of (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Pirate Game Postmortem (Was: Re: Brickfest)

(...) Great! Is this something you can share with us when it's crafted? (...) I agree--I really liked the brick rulers. However, I do think that 1x3 segments would be more useful than 1x4 segments--I'd rather have compressed the range somewhat. I (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: Pirate Game Mortars: First Draft

(...) I agree. Part of the goal of rule creation was to make these bits suitably rare--they would either need to be specialised or a pirate would need to seek them out quite deliberately. (...) strong that (...) comes (...) This is a good (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

  Re: Brickfest

  Re: Brickfest BrikWars

(...) Hi there, I was brand new to any kind of LEGO event, especially BrickWars. I came to Brickfest just to play Brickwars, but got happily distracted by other things (including my gf who dragged me away every night before the pub crawls, damnit). (...)   Re: pirate chasing merchant

(...) ...I think your melded version was great. Maybe call it a 'mini campaign' like game. And maybe next year I wont have to leave my ship on autopilot so much :-) I think the slight modification to the scale of the guns brought it a bit more (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: My Ogre was a Daily Illuminator!

(...) I have a minifig GEV I need to take pictures of and then post. I'm still figuring out the thrust vectoring for the turbofans at the back, and I need to plaster it with dish antennas. Unfortunately I had to upgrade my only USB equippped PC to (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.gaming)

  Re: pirate chasing merchant

(...) The game in Biloxi was most definitely a "battle" game (what Steve calls a "shoot-and-sail game" in his latest update to the rules and GM charts). One of these days, I'd like to run my own %^^$^$#@ con, and invite Steve over to run the Pirate (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

Re: pirate chasing merchant (was "Re: Brickfest")

(...) Was that game a battle game or campaign game? Of all the game descriptions I've seen, it's only clear which flavor one of the games was (battle game - the players clearly started with a large ship or several small ones). I like some of the (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jun-00, to lugnet.gaming)

pirate chasing merchant (was "Re: Brickfest")

Ahoy, lass! Arrrr! (...) Hmmm.... When I helped SJ run his game at CoastCon in Biloxi ("(URL) Snake Island!
