I just noticed this huge thread, and only reading the first line by
Kevin, I want to say, "Look at my trade page!"  I have linked to just about
every site I could think of that is a good site to find Legos.  Look at it
(see sig), LMK what you think.  I haven't updated it in a month, so let me
know if I missed anybody or if there are any new places.  Also, I think I
will add S@H and Busy Bee phone numbers to it somewhere, with a description
of their great services.  Also, I will add some info on how I have found
good bargains in the past and let me people know places look than eBay (or
the net).  Now I'll read the thread...

I have been thinking for a while of writing a FAQ on "how to buy Lego"
which I could link to from my eBay and other auctions. This would
include things like S@H, Ets Dya and Busy Bee, reading RTL and Lugnet,
how to tell a good deal when you see one in a store, how to tell a
knowledgable Lego seller from not in an auction, etc etc. No price guide
<g>.

If anyone is interested in helping with this (and it should get added to
the Lugnet FAQ too, of course), I'd like to hear from you, and I'd like
to hear from people who think it's a good/bad idea, who would/would not
link to it in their auctions, whether eBay would get their knickers in a
twist if we did it, etc. If all (or even just some) the honest Lego
sellers who frequent Lugnet were to link to it, it could raise the
knowledge level among Lego buyers on eBay considerably, without perhaps
exposing us all to having auctions cancelled because of providing
information like Larry was trying to do.

(...) Took a look John, you've done a nice job! However, the list of auctions is a long way down the page - many people never do go right down a page and so would never see what you've got there. I envisage something that will be a single-purpose (...) (25 years ago, 30-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.faq)
