Sorry, bad example...I wouldn’t know the difference in car quality if it came up and shouted in my face. :) But I get your point, and I think I agree. Perhaps I was too fast to lump this thread in with all the other color stuff.

We should definitely all take time to tell them when they’ve done a good job. I think there’s been a tremendous improvement in some areas in the last 5 or 6 years. But to backslide and have something like a quality control issue pop up now is not a good thing. We need to alert them and constructively criticize when things like this happen. It just isn’t good business for a company who is capable of better.

This is true. In hindsight I agree with you - this is not a colour issue, but a Quality issue. I was aiming my original post at a somewhat different area, I guess, and apparently missed. :)

What’s your favorite color? Would you feel the same if this bus was issued in your favorite color... with the same problem? :)

Maybe the issue would strike closer to home, but I don’t think I’d have a real problem with it - because I tend to build a lot of mixed-colour stuff to begin with (and I don’t build the box model and let it sit on my shelf forever!).

Green, by the way. ;)

No... please stay. Please give rational calm input. There’s nothing wrong with us discussing this. I think part of what *might* have gotten some people upset in the last few weeks is how some of the color commentary was being delivered.

Maybe the delivery was part of it (though I never did read all the grey colour stuff, so I don’t know about all of it), perhaps volume played a part. By now LEGO knows that anything that changes colour we don’t like.

If this is a forum used by ‘adult’ fans of LEGO then let’s act like that and discuss things in an adult manner. No harm there at all.

Well, I can’t exactly speak for the ‘used by’ part there myself ;), but I echo the second 100%. Unfortunately I think I missed that mark by opening my mouth at all this time. I should have given it more thought.

So, let’s try again...
Good night, that is not good. I would be very interested in finding out
just exactly what causes deviations like this. I hope it's safe to assume
purple isn't changing color too. :)
Better? ;)

(...) Then I'll change the wording a bit. :) IF I could afford a Cadillac, I would not expect the quality typically found in a Pontiac. Now you're off the hook for knowing the difference. ;) LEGO pieces are the Cadillac... I see no reason not to (...) (21 years ago, 3-Mar-04, to lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)
