  Windscreen Weirdness

Tell me I'm not seeing things. . . I have in my hand a roughly 3 x 4 x 1 LtTrBlue windscreen from set 6392. I can quite clearly read the number as 4866. Partsref doesn't show this part, but it does show part 4688 (URL) is a dead ringer for the part (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: Help identify piece

Andrew, That piece is listed on Technica: (URL) was used in pre-Technic sets, along with the large coloured gears & the milky-white Technic axles. Clark (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: Help identify piece

(...) These date back to the early days of Technic, back when it was called "Lego Expert Builder" in the US. I think you are talking about this piece: (2 URLs) think mine came with my set #107, 4.5v motor set: (URL) peeron doesn't list any sets for (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Help identify piece

I picked up a tub of second hand parts today and was surprised to come across a piece that I've never seen before. The pieces (there were 4 of them) can best be described as a grey 2x4 technic brick. - Same size as a 2x4 brick. - 3 holes through the (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jan-02, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: I need a translation of this inventory.

ok, here goes: Girder bricks are the bricks with the holes in them. (otherwise known as beams) Technic plates are the ones with the holes The technic flywheel is the small pulley with the 6 holes in it. The Technic up-gear is the crown wheel The 1x4 (...)   I need a translation of this inventory.

(URL) of the items are blatantly obvious like the plates and bricks, but there are also confusing ones such as: 2 Grey Technic Pitman Arm I was wondering if someone would be willing to go through and create a partsref element list from this (...)   Re: What is this piece?

(...) Yes you are right, my mistake. Propellers in this set are placed inside model team wheel hubs, not the parts we talking about Selçuk (23 years ago, 10-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: What is this piece?

(...) Yeah, that's piece 6041 (URL). Steve (23 years ago, 10-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: What is this piece?

Hi, Many thanks to both of you. According to Peeron: Submarine: 8299 --> "Cylinder 4 x 4 x 1 2/3 Propeller Cowling" (2 yellow) X-Wing: 7191 --> "Cylinder 4 x 4 x 1 2/3 Propeller Cowling" (4 gray) The model team set was not inventoried. 3-in-1: 8286 (...)   Re: What is this piece?

(...) It used as a propeller housing in at least two technic sets (The Yellow Submarine -8299?- and the 3-in-1 set -the one with a Jeep and a trailer carrying a small helicopter -8268?) in yellow. I also know that gray ones are included to UCS (...) (23 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: What is this piece?

(...) This piece is also found in the starwars UCS xwing and a model team truck+trailer+airplane, among other things (I think there was a yellow one in the technic submarine...) (23 years ago, 5-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

  What is this piece?

Hello, Can anybody help me to identify this piece? (URL) It is used in 8868 to create tanks at the side of the truck. I've searched Peeron, Technica and Partsref and cannot find anything remotely like it. Since the set is from 92 however, I can't (...) (23 years ago, 5-Jul-01, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: Part naming/organization [was: Re: More inventories on peeron.com!]

(...) well, if the part has a partsref number, then it doesn't need a picture, since all parts in partsref have dats. So we only need pictures of parts that are not in partsref. Now, if the part has a number on it, use that, if not, give it an (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jun-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: Part naming/organization [was: Re: More inventories on peeron.com!]

Hi, (...) What is the procedure for someone else to add photos and new parts to your db inventory on peeron? I just got a digital camera, and would be willing to photo new parts in MISB sets I inventory. Would I just send you the photo and find the (...)   Re: Part naming/organization [was: Re: More inventories on peeron.com!]

(...) You're absolutely right. I keep planning on updating those parts. Basically, the Castle, Space, and Town categories should go away. Train will stay, because there are many train-specific pieces. Ditto for any other theme-like categories. Steve (23 years ago, 29-Jun-01, to lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: Part naming/organization [was: Re: More inventories on peeron.com!]

(...) Are you letting me fight my own battles, or throwing me to the wolves? ;) Partsref using LDraw names is no defense for me... (...) And my stance is that partsref uses the data from ldraw. My advantage is that when LDraw changes, it's very easy (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jun-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.db.brictionary)

Re: Part naming/organization [was: Re: More inventories on peeron.com!]

(...) I'll let Steve fight his own battle - but I will point out that partref uses %100 ldraw names... :) (...) Tell me about it. Our current stance on peeron is that we won't create new names for pieces that already have names via ldraw/partsref... (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jun-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.db.brictionary)

Part naming/organization [was: Re: More inventories on peeron.com!]

(...) And I must mention that, although it is in some ways convenient to be able to find pieces by theme, things get messy when themes are used in the hierarchy. For example, consider the Castle section of Partsref, and these "Castle *" parts. There (...) (23 years ago, 29-Jun-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.db.brictionary)
