Re: TLC To Mix Old and New Grays

I'll give them a "cost cutting" move they won't regret: I want large tubs of old grey, in a wide variety of pieces and types, technic and non-technic! I would also like to see tubs of other colors as well, such as Teal (Dark Turquoise on BL) parts (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: TLC To Mix Old and New Grays

Heck, if they have lots of old greys to get rid of, make Spring Cleaning packs of old grey/brown, and sell them at the Spring Cleaning set pricing points (i.e. large tub pricing), and I'll buy a bunch. Put them in the OLD style tubs, instead of the (...) (19 years ago, 3-May-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: TLC To Mix Old and New Grays

(...) WOW!-they also admitted to Jake that the change was a bad move ! (thanks for passing along the info, Jake): "These overstocked elements include old, pre-color change elements that we've not been quite sure how to deal with. One reason (among a (...)   Re: TLC To Mix Old and New Grays

This will make it more interesting (and no doubt more challenging!) for those who continue to purchase new product. I'm glad we're hearing about this in advance, as discovering this by ourselves would've no doubt led many to false hope that the (...) (19 years ago, 29-Apr-05, to lugnet.color)

TLC To Mix Old and New Grays

Just saw this post from a couple of days ago on (URL) Jake Mckee's blog>: In the future, you may see some sets have both old grays and new grays in the same box. It's apparantly a cost-cutting move. Marc Nelson Jr. (URL) Marc's Creations>> (19 years ago, 29-Apr-05, to lugnet.color, FTX) !

Re: Blue box 4483 AT-AT - new colors? NO.

The Blue box AT-AT released last year has the old grays. Little is known about the 2005 AT-AT 4483 being sold on lego.com right now. No one knows the box type or if new/old gray parts are used. We'll find out soon, since they should be shipping by (...) (19 years ago, 25-Apr-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: Blue box 4483 AT-AT - new colors?

(...) I didn't get a response in .color, so will try in .general since this is not meant to be a "political" color question. Anyone?? Thanks, Steve (19 years ago, 25-Apr-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color)

  Blue box 4483 AT-AT - new colors?

Does the blue-boxed 4483 AT-AT (as opposed to the older black-boxed version) contain the new grays? Thanks, Steve (19 years ago, 22-Apr-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Holy Mackerel! LEGO survey...

(...) Yes. (...) Despite of the "blay-desaster" it is still one of the best toys on market. (...) More products like the designer sets. More spare parts. More lines that last for more than 2 years. (As town and castle did in the 80ies) (...) Return (...) (19 years ago, 17-Apr-05, to lugnet.lego, lugnet.color)

Very nice! And bright! FYI, the primer you'll need when he's a teen and wants to repaint is called Kilz. Unless he wants to paint it all black... :-) James Wilson Dallas, TX (19 years ago, 13-Apr-05, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Lego Paint?!?

(...) We did something like that for my son's room too. We used blue (which is a Buzz Lightyear color) for the walls, and yellow, red and green were planned for the trim. We never got around to using the trim colors though, after my wife made those (...) (19 years ago, 13-Apr-05, to lugnet.color, FTX)

Nah, I noticed the issue with ODG well before bley came on the scene. But the variations I have aren't severe enough to affect anything I've built yet (unlike the purple). (...) -- Tom Stangl *(URL) Visual FAQ home *(URL) Visual FAQ Home (19 years ago, 10-Apr-05, to lugnet.color)

Re: Never noticed this before . . .

(...) Over the long term the colors most prone to yellowing (due to sunlight) are blue, gray and white. Of course with all the new Lego colors out, it will be interesting to see which new colors also have this tendency (obviously those that are (...) (19 years ago, 9-Apr-05, to lugnet.color)
