What do peasants carry around in your town? —David Simmons
Hey all, I've started to create a peasant population with all these spare Qui-Gong, Anakin, Jar-Jar, and Majisto torso's. The only problem is, other than the pitchfork, which is harder to find than hen's teeth (I only have one), I'm stuck as to what (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Eric Kingsley
(...) I guess my first suggestion would be nothing :-). Thats what most of mine carry and they look fine. Another suggestion is the basket thing that hangs on their back. I have a few of these in brown and they look good on peasants. (...) Well (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

I know I have way more oars than I'll ever need. But that's (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Frank Filz
(...) Well, you see, I wanted to build this trap for my little brother using a stake filled pit. I wanted to test it first, but of course I didn't want to get hurt myself, so I dropped a large rock into it, and darn it, I broke about 20 spears... (24 years ago, 15-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) LOL... yeah, I just wanted to, um, umm, ummm... cut some... cardboard... for this art project I'm working on... yeah... and my x-acto knife *accidently* scraped the mike off the Jet head that just happened to be around... ooops ;-) (Actually, (...)      Haha, one of my "Armies" that my friends and I use for our castle wargames is a peasant rebellion sort of deal. Mainly pirate bodies, but starting to use the Qui-Gon/Jar-Jar bodies among some other peasant attire. We have a whole regiment (bout 10 (...) (25 years ago, 20-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) Welcome, join the crowd and the fun! Most of my peasants are armed in a disturbing manner, they have LightSabers! :^) Well about half of them do :^) Rest assured that the "Hand of God" will safely disarm before they do any harm....         Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Marc Nelson, Jr.
(...) -They could be pushing carts or wheelbarrows full of hay or wood or something. If they are near a forest, they could have hatchets for cutting down trees. You could have 2 or them working together carrying a log. They could be carrying grey (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Shiri Dori
(...) To some degree, I agree with Eric who said they won't carry a thing. However, I think that a bit of accesories provides a lot of variety and is definitely cool. The peasant "bucket" is a great fit, as well as pitchforks <sigh>. I think that (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Jeff Johnston
(...) Well, it depends on what they're doing. If they're just out for a stroll they probably won't carry anything. If they're on their way to market they might have one of those basket backpacks (available recently/currently in 6097 among others). A (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

I have used the Star Wars solid lightsaber piece as a walking stick see picture here (URL). I have some guys holding hatchets, women with brooms. The hammer is a good idea too. Ben Gatrelle (25 years ago, 4-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Frank Filz
(...) Well, judging from what's in the toy stores, I would suspect a farm theme would be marketable. I think it's Ertl which has a wonderfull looking series of HO scale farm playsets. Being HO scale, suggests that there is a sufficient market of (...) (25 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

A backpacker - using a brown Imperial (pirates) back-pack. Maybe (...) (25 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) I agree to all the above. (...) You mean the pitchforks? (or is there a rake I'm oblivious of?) (...) Hm. I had a thought that some peasants might be leading a horse, not riding but leading one. Not that I know how that'd work... I saw we need (...) (25 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Jeff Johnston
(...) I made a couple of pack horses using the Adventurer backpacks. Put the solid backs (1x2 brick & plate) into the horse's back, and then hang a backpack off of each side. I have a tiny caravan consisting of a goldsmith and his guards that uses (...) (25 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

(...) I use the same technique. Also, there is an old Fabuland "Saddlebags" piece that came with a motorcycle (I think?) that works great for this (funny, saddlebags work for making saddlebags?          Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —John D. Forinash
(...) Only gripe I've got with a bow and arrow is that there's always an arrow nocked and drawn. Peasants may have known how to use a bow and arrow, but they generally didn't wander through town with an arrow ready to let fly. :) I'd like to see (...)          Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Jeff Johnston
(...) Well, they're easier to make than a crossbow, certainly - and cheaper. Crossbows are probably easier to hit things with, but they're big and heavy and not something you'd want to carry around all day. (...) True. On the other hand, I regard (...)          Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Chris Gray
(...) Actually, I believe the accuracy of longbows is much greater than that of crossbows. Crossbows are kind of crude and brute force - no finesse. However, because they have much more force (the bolts are heavy), they are used to penetrate armour. (...) (25 years ago, 6-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Karl Martinson
(...) I'm just wondering why a villager would carry around a crossbow? First, they're way out their price range, and second, they're too complicated. A bow is pretty easy to make, and is free. Crossbows were pretty much used in the military. Jeff is (...) (25 years ago, 6-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Sonny Sidhu
(...) Well, here's an idea: use the capes of Qui-Gon or Obi-Wan (Maybe even a Darth) as bundles of cloth. I've used these, either crumpled a bit or just precariously placed on the hands of peasants. Maybe these could be used on a clothesline, as (...) (25 years ago, 21-May-00, to lugnet.castle)

Re: What do peasants carry around in your town? —Leandro Braga
Most of my peasants carry around goblets, because supposedly the government over them has been taxing them so hard they all became drunkards to ease the pain. So i've built a few bars and a few dilapidated shacks, too. No pics yet, sorry. I would (...) (25 years ago, 21-May-00, to lugnet.castle)
