Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) Thanks much! I'm glad someone enjoyed it. (...) I'm not at my own computer at the momement, but when I get the chance I will go through and check for those. (...) Fixed. (...) Thanks again. Unfortunately, I am quickly becoming discouraged with (...) (22 years ago, 29-Mar-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

Hey Anthony, I just wanted to put my two cents worth in, if that is okay. I like your story and website. I don't know how many people I have shown your story to, but it is a lot. I am sorry to hear that you have gotten flooded with criticism. It (...) (22 years ago, 30-Mar-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) My apologies for the lack of posting this week... School, life and *gasp* reality caught up with me again... I did take the extra few minutes to check out your additions, Anthony. As always, stellar job, and another presing reason for myself (...) (22 years ago, 30-Mar-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

In lugnet.castle, Anthony Sava writes: O.K. Anthony, I just read your first 2 chapters (and am back online). But it was more this post that struck me. Here is a great quote from Tolkien that appeared in the preface to the second edition of LOTR (...) (22 years ago, 5-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) I'm not much of a reader (go figure), so I've never read that quote of his before. Thank you for sharing it. I can always seem to count on the support of my lugnet friends whenever I am in need. (...) You were right when you said you would be (...) (22 years ago, 6-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) Thanks much! I hope I don't finish my story before you finally get to yours! ;) (...) Aye, I rememeber. Don't worry about me, I'm not going to give up, not just yet anyway. (...) I've never thought about taking my story to a writer's forum. (...) (22 years ago, 6-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) Ikros winning a Pulitzer... boy, wouldn't that be something? Not that there's any chance of it happening, but it's fun to dream :) I've been told that exact same thing before, about Tolkien covering so much of the genre. Heck, he pretty much (...) (22 years ago, 6-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) Hey Anthony. Like others have said before, ignore comments that are coming from a place of ignorance. So many people feel they have a right to just break down something just because they can. Their comments are meant to make themselves feel (...) (22 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

Hi, (...) I forgot a few positive mentions, which make my comments a little harsh in hindsight. (When I put up my story and you say something negative and I complain feel free to link to this post : ) ) (...) First off I forgot to mention... Aside (...) (22 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) Anthony, I'd completely ignore them. Do what you do because it is fun to you, not for others' approval. Slashdot especially seems largely inhabited by people who can't do much aside from sit on their own butts and insult others. I've actually (...) (22 years ago, 7-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) Matt, I really think you're doing yourself a disservice here. You are really missing out on one of the best books of the 20th century of any genre, and quite probably THE best in the fantasy genre. The answer to avoiding being a copycat is not (...)   Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) The only disservice I don't want to do to myself is draw from something so starkingly obvious that someone can point to it and say 'there's another mindless tolkein fan! See, I told you nobody can write a fantasy story without dwarves/ elves.' (...) (22 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) "Frankenstein" is definitely the best fantasy book. (...) I agree with Matt. It is impossible to read something and not pull from it. I think reading something like LOTR would have too much influence and frankly i do not wish to be sucked into (...) (22 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) The movie 'Resident Evil' gave me some excellent ideas for writing, albeit I might only take a few of them...maybe mix some of that with the 'World is not enough' James Bond film... (...) Hell, I'd like to see a fantasy spoof similar to this, (...) (22 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: Chapter 2, plus 2 MOCs, too

(...) Ah, yes...and I'm still drafting that act. Actually, right now I have a whole notebook filled with pictures, theories and potential plot twists just ready to break out. However, I have a very clear idea of where I want to branch off. For (...) (22 years ago, 8-Apr-03, to lugnet.castle)
