Josh Wedin proposed the idea of having the Medieval Marketplace in the
center of the town square. If the makers of MM want to be here, they are
welcome. 128 x 128 is a very large area which can accomodate many activities.
Town Squares were commercial spaces with fairs and markets set up in them on
a weekly, monthly, or daily basis. An example would be a pilgrimage town
has a festival of Saint ________ (insert name here) and also has a market to
bring in a little cash to offset expenses of feeding visitors, etc. At
other times the square can be used for parades, horse racing, state events
like funerals and coronations, religious events, and public events (like a
hanging, burning a heretic, etc).
