Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

Christian, That is truly a brilliant model. Ausgezeichnet! Thanks for sharing this with us. I love the dark patches in the stonework. Are they meant to look like cracks? I also really like the covered crossway over the main gate. It makes the model (...) (21 years ago, 18-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: A Classic Confrontation

Hi, jep - the Falcons should not wear Dragon Master helmet ! But I think the crusaders will win !! 'cause of the higher position of the archers and the better placed swordsmen etc.... It seemed that the falcons are the evil, 'cause THEY crossed the (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: A Classic Confrontation

(...) Ah, and in all of its glory, I believe you really caught the essence of the 'dogs' of warfare here with soldiers clashing in basically every way possible. (nice to find the crusader ducking in a tree stump for shooting cover!) I still can't (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

(...) As I spent all the 'rough building skills' in the buildings, I decided to add a little smallscale trickery to the accesories :-) Have you seen how the coaches move from 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 wide designs in one model? Yours, Christian (21 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

(...) Thank you! (...) Originally, there were some sketches and floor plans - but not intended as a building sketch for LEGO, but as a scenario layout for an AD&D adventure module. I did a few design tests (the grey walls, and the diagonal tudor) (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

(...) Thank you! (...) Weeeellll... The logistics behind this model is one of the toughest problems one can face legowise. I plundered several BrickLink shops, Bootsales and fellow AFOLs to get those bricks. (...) Dunno about the white bricks, but (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

(...) Thank You! > Are there are eye level views of the courtyard, I'd like to (...) Whose eyes? A minifigs one? Please describe the kind of shot you'd like to see, and I'll give it a try (although I'm quite amateurish with the camera...). Yours, (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

(...) Thanks! > However, you really should add some interior.... Nag, Nag :-) Yes. I know... Yours, Christian (21 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

(...) Thanks! (...) Well, actually, the road runs solely before the gate. The two paths inside the courtyard are the ones going to the rear stables and servants quarters on the left (seen from the gate), and to the blacksmit workshop on the right. A (...)   Re: A Classic Confrontation

(...) Love it to say the least. Fav pic? (URL) angle and feeling, i sense the urgency as the Falcons race up the hill and those crusaders wait with death on their minds. The angle and focus makes it seem like a first person view, as an attacker. (...) (21 years ago, 17-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

Hello Christian, "Christian Treczoks" wrote (...) Holy moly, this is great! How did you design this creation? Did you make any sketches or plans on paper beforehand, or started building immediately? I love your work on the roofs, this seems quite (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: A Classic Confrontation

Hey Josh! (...) Nice classic scene! (In case you can call a bloody battle scene "nice" :-) Parenthesis closed) I hope the Black Falcons are going to win? Of course they do! They are undefeatable. Just one complaint: A Black Falcon wears never (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Ruin by the Sea

Hi Jason, (...) Well, that's a nice way to ruin my day :-) Sorry I don't have anything to add to previous post, but I'd like to express my appreciation anyway. That's a great creation both pleasing to look at and as a source of inspiration. Regards, (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

  A Classic Confrontation

Hey All, Here is something I worked up in the last couple of days. (URL) It is the classic battle of Black Falcon's versus the Crusaders. I built the landscape first and have had it done for a couple of days. But today I added one tree like Jason (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.build, lugnet.announce.moc)

  Re: Ruin by the Sea

(...) Thanks! (...) One tip I can offer, if you are low on green plates, is to put down some random junk plates in off colors first, then put green bricks on top of that. I used this method to spare my green plates a little and to make use of a (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Ruin by the Sea

(...) Thank you. I will definitely try to remember, in the future, that simiplicity has it's uses. (...) I confess I can't claim all the credit for those trees. I first took note of the idea from (URL) this picture> of an early GMLTC layout. To (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: Ruin by the Sea

(...) Thanks. I am truly surprised at the response to this creation. I only hope my next one can be just as interesting. As for the critics (as you call them) I would like think it was just constructive critism. So even if I don't get around to (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

(...) Well...I'll say that the project is an impressive undertaking; in both size and detail. Aside from the typical tudor style (which would catch my eye no matter the occasion), I'm just continully amazed at what can be done with those flat (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)

Re: The Inn at the OLde Road

(...) Wow! Quite nice, so much detail. I really like your design for the horses harness. Josh (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Ruin by the Sea

(...) Hi Jason, Very nice MOC! I really like this. I have been experimenting with landscape and am very impressed by your ground. I have been trying ruins a bit also, so this MOC grabbed my attention right off. I would second Alan's question about (...) (21 years ago, 16-Jun-03, to lugnet.castle, FTX)
