Well, actually, the road runs solely before the gate. The two paths
inside the courtyard are the ones going to the rear stables and servants
quarters on the left (seen from the gate), and to the blacksmit workshop
on the right. A lake will be located next to the tree in the rear half
of the scenario, and the pathway will run around it.
