Holy moly, this is great!
Thank you!

How did you design this creation? Did you make
any sketches or plans on paper beforehand, or
started building immediately?
Originally, there were some sketches and floor plans - but not intended
as a building sketch for LEGO, but as a scenario layout for an AD&D
adventure module.
I did a few design tests (the grey walls, and the diagonal tudor) before
i started, and the layout, especially the planning of the location of
the vertical beams, was done with round 1x1 in different colours on a
set of grey building plates. Sorry, no photos, as I got the camera when
this design stage was well over. I may take photos of the design stage
when I start the rear half of the setting, though...

I love your work on the roofs, this seems quite
complicated to me.
Yea, they were quite difficult sometimes, especially with the problem
that such ordinatry pieces like red slopes 45° are only available in
minute quantities. I raided every german BrickLink shop (and quite a lot
of other people) on red 3046s - and I'm still searching, as I need more
for the servants quarters and the blacksmith shop in the rear half of
the scenario.

In general this creation shows
an aweful lot of details for such a large project.
I'm impressed.
Thank you.

You might be careful with your back though,
when taking your MOC to Berlin...
That should no be a problem, as the model can be disassembled into about
20 modules (each building, each level, and a few extra), which will be
stored in padded boxes.

Yours, Christian

Hi Christian, (...) I like to do something similar, using bricks in a off color (often red or yellow) to mark specific spots in a design, removing them while building continues. (...)
