Anyways, I'd love to see the concept carried further.  All 25
gallons of my grey are in use at the moment (ack), but with
enough time I'll put together a marsupial for Suffren's snub
   fighters.

Well, I realise that my track record for posting MOCs is pretty abysmal, but
for what it's worth, here's a pic of a marsupial-style  "light multi-role
carrier" that I took to a recent 'fest:

I'm not completely happy with the nose, it's hard to tell from the photo but
from other angles it's really really jagged.
I actually have twice as many fighters as will fit on it, but it's just
toooo heavy already. Not surprisingly I lack sufficient grey bricks for a
sister craft... :-(
Currently it's loosely termed MSV or "medium space vehicle", suggestions for
a _decent_ name would be greatly appreciated!

No more pics yet, it's nearly 2am and I have a busy day tomorrow...

(...) shape of the little fighters too. The use of the wedge slopes on 3 sides is really neat. I can just imagine this thing spewing fighters out all over the place. :^) More pics, please!!!! ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

(...) Paul, Wow, that's so elegant. Do you have any closeups of the fighters? Do the fighter pilots stay in their fighters the whole time, is there a way for them to access the mothership? Thanks, George (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

(...) Paul, That is great. I the mass is right - so many ships appear frail - this does not! I like grey. You should post more MOCs. Bob (23 years ago, 17-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

(...) great! The large radar dishes are arranged such that is looks like there are spherical tanks buried in there, perhaps one single large tank. Overall the rear end reminds me of the Star Wars Calamari cruiser shape with all of the curvature (...) (23 years ago, 18-Aug-01, to lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.build, lugnet.space)

(...) I've got to agree with Geordan. I wish you'd kept at that carrier concept--the "traditional" carrier, while still cool, has been done a lot and a carrier that holds its "children" on its frame--I've called them "marsupial carriers", because (...)
