I played around with it and thought it was pretty neat for how few lines of
Tcl it was.

I'd wager the existing LPub GUI could definitiely be done in Tcl/Tk.  I
can't think of any widgets on the current LPub GUI that don't have Tcl/Tk
equivalents.
