Okay... i've got the first test of my .MPD merger/splitter up... nothing fancy.. i'll get the interface, error checking, etc out of the way... right now i just want a testable copy of the parse routines to create/split .MPD files out there... give (...) (26 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Option (2) is the better choice. Option (1) will be a META command, specifically I believe "0 INCLUDE foo.dat" will be the syntax. (...) Anything other than a comment will be an error. The presence of comments will be accepted, but no META (...) (26 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) basically the rule of thumb i try to stick with, is the basis for our point of origin primitive... the stud.. the standard LDraw stud uses a 16-segment cylinder... so whenever possible i try to use 16-sided cylinders anytime i'm dealing with a (...) A short while ago Onyx produced a MAX2DAT converter which seemed like such a good idea I was inspired to look into converting from other text based formats. I chose VRML files to start with because they seemed very much alike to the DAT format. (...) (26 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

I've posted this in lugnet.cad and nobody answered me, so I guessed I must have posted it in the wrong newsgroup... In LeoCAD I can't find some parts that are common in the newer TECHNIC sets. Is LeoCAD list complete or is outdated? I find very (...) (26 years ago, 17-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Hello Lars, Are you still developping your mklist program for making the parts list ? I liked the program because it runs on both my MS-DOS 6.2 machine at home, and the (new and fast) Windows NT 4.00 based machine at work. I can't test it, but your (...) (26 years ago, 17-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

New in v1.1: 1) sort by number if descriptions are the same 2) non-ascii sort to let 3005.dat come before 3005-a.dat 3) SkipTilde-question and Duplicate-check changed to options (try -h) in order to make mklist function like James's makelist. 4) (...) (26 years ago, 17-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) I think it's OK to load an MPD as a parts library in order to search parts in there, rather than in the usual directories. But I hope you agree that the well-known semantics of "1 16 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 1 parts.dat" should not be changed to (...) (26 years ago, 17-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Don't confuse your names; I did not write the DAT2DXF program, I think that might have been Paul Evans Bauch (spelling?). I don't have ACAD, but I use DXF files as a common file format. The registered version of AC3D includes source for a DXF (...) (26 years ago, 17-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
