Okay... i've got the first test of my .MPD merger/splitter up... nothing
fancy.. i'll get the interface, error checking, etc out of the way... right now
i just want a testable copy of the parse routines to create/split .MPD files
out there... give it a run, see what you find...

http://www.flash.net/~onyx/M-Peedy/M-Peedy.zip
(no pretty page yet, just a quick DL.. i'll do the HTML tomorrow)

caution.. right now the program does *no* checking for existing files before
overwriting.. so if you're playing with merging .MPD's, make sure you aren't
overwriting ones you want to keep...

the proggy pulls its settings from the LDraw.ini, so you will need to be
running LDAO...
either select an .MPD you want to split and split it, or select the master .DAT
file in a model and merge it... all sub files are recursively parsed and added
to the .MPD automatically... the recursion is infinite so your model can have
as many sub-models as you can stand...

the only problem i might foresee is that M-Peedy checks .DAT entries in .DAT
files against the \Parts directory.. if it doesn't find the .DAT file in the
parts directory it assumes it must be a sub-model and adds it to the .MPD..
it's working okay for me now, but if someone has parts lines in a .DAT file
that they don't have files for in their \Parts dir, it might cause the proggy
to act wiggy... once i get error checking in it will solve this problem...

hope this helps... enjoy...

J

(...) .DAT (...) the (...) proggy (...) This is probably a good thing. If I have a model using unofficial parts, then to share it with the world as an .MPD, I would want the unofficial part to be added as a sub-model. Otherwise I'd have to inline (...) (26 years ago, 18-Mar-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)
