  Re: Noting gaps in parts sequences  [DAT]

(...) Cool -- that's a neat and extremely low-effort way to get labels! Here's one way to write the program in Perl (also handling spaces and Æ=>AE): $ cat datstart #!/usr/local/bin/perl5 -w my %brick = ( ' ' => "3005", 'Æ' => "3005-AE", map {$_ => (...)   [NEWPART] - 2871 (?) Electric Train Motor Sides

Hello all, I've started working on decorative bearing mockups you clip on the sides of the 9V Electric Train Motor. I believe the part number is 2871, does someone know it for certain ? I've put an entry in the Tracked Parts List also. (URL) M. (...) (26 years ago, 22-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Any hope for LDLite and MPD together?

Yes, MPD will be available for LDLite on the March 31 release (v. 1.7). I've done some behind-the-scenes restructuring of how files get loaded and parsed in support of some other stuff, and the MPD support will happen easily. However, you will need (...)   Re: MPD<->DAT conversion in Perl

(...) Oh. OK, no, it doesn't. Is there a spec somewhere on what characters are legal? There regex there should be m/[^a-zA-Z0-9_\-\.~#]/ to include ~ and #, but any other characters would need to be scrutinized very carefully to look for shell (...) (26 years ago, 21-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: MPD<->DAT conversion in Perl

(...) Are you sure this handles all the legal LDraw file names? I think both tildes (~) and hashed (#) are legal as well. Sorry if this comment is out of place, as I'm not too familiar with Perl. Other than that, your programs look useful. Fredrik (26 years ago, 21-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  MPD<->DAT conversion in Perl

I want to make sure I understand this MPD file format. I wrote two Perl programs, one for slurping up a nested tree of DAT's and producing an MPD, and one for splitting up an MPD back into DAT's. I'm not sure how useful these will be in future (...) (26 years ago, 21-Feb-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Noting gaps in parts sequences

I just noticed that the oilcan is missing from the 6246 group: (URL) this because it hasn't been modeled yet (maybe due to its complexity?) or is it just located elsewhere for some historical reason?
