  Re: [ldraw.org] TLG Models

(...) Do you mean an ldraw.org-specific newsgroup? If so, then perhaps a more meaningful name might be lugnet.cad.dev.ldraw-org or lugnet.cad.ldraw-org? Whether it would be appropriate is probably simply whether it would help focus the discussions? (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: fixed part: JW's parts

(...) Jonathan, Please try not to take this personally -- and realize that this is only one opinion -- but if you are unable to get parts right even *with* real LEGO elements in hand, then IMHO you really should consider giving up on LDraw, or at (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Multilanguage support for ldraw.org (Was: Re: Ldraw.org...)

Hello, I would be pleased to help for the French translations. But I lack time to do more: I can't take the multilanguage area. Sorry! bye jp (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: baseplate 32 x 32 road curve with road pattern-9 studs

(...) Ben, Just a side note -- it recently came to light that part of the problem in Jonathan's parts might be related to .cad.dat posting problems -- at least things like missing studs...still gathering info. This probably doesn't affect the (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  [ldraw.org] TLG Models

I would like to suggest that we keep the discussion of the TLG Model Repository to lugnet.cad.dev. It is simpler to keep the discussion of the ldraw.org site in one place. Todd, do you feel its appropriate to create a new (temporary) newsgroup for (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad)

Re: part: brick 1 x 2 with computer screen and buttons pattern

(...) I don't remember the other one, but here is some feedback on this one: First of all, it looks very nice and it looks like you have got the geometry of the 1x2 brick correct. But I think you would benefit from having either a scan of the face (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: part: technic pin long with stop bush

(...) That's very nice indeed. Is it customary to omit the nibs on friction peg elements in LDraw? --Todd (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: fixed part: JW's parts

(...) I think the problem Bram was having was related to some very odd SMTP e-mail problem -- that's the only place we saw it, other than JosephG's and BenV's problems, which were related to a buffer overflow[1]. But if there are still any problems (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: fixed part: JW's parts

(...) Maybe the viewing portion of your internal feedback cycle (edit -> view -> re-touch -> re-view -> re-touch -> re-view...) is different from other people viewing the parts. That is, what sorts of tools are you using to view the work as it (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: fixed part: JW's parts

(...) I've had similar problems myself with cad.dat. However, I always check to make sure that the file in cad.dat shows up the same as the one in my models folder. I suggest that you do the same, especially before asking which studs are missing. (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: fixed part: JW's parts

(...) I know from experience that it takes a lot of concentration to figure out exactly where everything needs to go. However, I think I'm pretty good at visualizing things in three dimensions, so I'm not that lousy. If you are lousy at 3-D (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) file... >i think that it ay be a problem with ledit as all the walls are there (...) Are you missing any type 2 or type 5 lines? That could really affect the way parts look in LEdit as wireframes. Also, try coloring the planes of the part (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: Ldraw.org: Organization and look & feel

In lugnet.cad.dev, Todd Lehman writes: <big snip> (...) Ldrawn models should be titled with a leading "m" as in m6889.dat. This might clear up some confusion. -John Van (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: mirrored parts

(...) I don't feel this is cheating, so much as personal artistic expression. Karim Nassar was just nominated for CLSOTW in spite of using this tactic. I'd vote for him. It doesn't need to be an issue of confusing people into trying to find (...) (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

one last thing. are you people trying to tell me that my parts can't be made up to scratch, no matter how much fixing i do? (26 years ago, 10-Apr-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: fixed part: JW's parts

1.what is wrong with my road curves? i am now making the curves with a sufficient number of segments to make them look good.   Re: fixed part: JW's parts

how accurate should the raised baseplate be? it is accurate to about 2-3 LDU in most cases. also i notice that the big part authors (steve bliss, chris dee, john vanzwietsen etc) are staying out of this discussion. is there a reason for this? what do (...)
