  Ldraw Viewer 0.4

A short note to say that Ldraw Viewer 0.4 is now at my .Mac site, homepage.mac.com/aal...GLite.html Enhancements include, ability to change part visibility, direct editing of parts and a 256 level undo. Also several reported bugs have been quashed (...) (22 years ago, 23-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Re: Mac LDraw Viewer comments

Christopher, (...) Amazing! - Did you have "Back Face Culling" turned on on the Carbonversion? (...) I have included 47 for clear and the other number for transparent red, however according to www.ldraw.org, clear colour numbers are obtained by (...)   Re: Multiple parts was Re: Mac LDraw Viewer comments

(...) Sorry, I didn't know that. (...) Does BrickDraw3D Carbon support adding bricks? One observation about BrickDraw3D Carbon vs Classic is that the Classic application is able to rotate a brick more smoothly. It is stange that the application (...)   QTVR of a model

While beta testing LDraw Viewer, I created this model. It took only a few hours (spread out over a few days). (I created the model for real years ago.) I am also learning how to use L3P, so I created an QTVR of the model rendered with POV-Ray. (URL) (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  mac.ldraw.org updated completely

I think I have gotten mac.ldraw.org completely updated. Anyone who would like to double check stuff please do. I changed the name to "LDraw Macintosh Community" (with a new graphic too) and got rid of "members" and "join" pages. James (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

Multiple parts was Re: Mac LDraw Viewer comments

(...) This has always been in BrickDraw3D. Shift-click to select. Dragging doesn't use more than just one though yet. The difficulty is in deciding how operations affect multiple parts. In BrickDraw3D 0.6 you can edit the part# or color for the (...) (22 years ago, 22-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

(...) Mmmm.... mushrooms. (...) Oh yeah, OS X 10.2.2. (...) I put up screen shots of my caboose rendered by LDraw Viewer (Carbon) and (Classic) and LDGLite. (...) There already is a 'p' suffix meaning parallel - the primitive is actually named box3#8p.dat. I found the original text from Manfred (dated 16Oct1998) copied here with minor spelling corrections - note that Manfred uses the word 'rib' for (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Christopher, Excellent feedback, keep it comming. This way I can improve the software more easily. Otherwise I develop using mushroom theory (working in the dark). (...) Which OS are you using? (...)   Mac LDraw Viewer comments

Well, I am useless when it comes to prgraming, but I can pretend that I am performing a valuable service by reporting my findings for beta software. I started up LDraw Viewer 0.3.1 on a PowerBook G3 (FireWire), ATI(AGP) 128 bit Rage Mobility with 8 (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac)

  Re: Large LDraw/MPD Files?

(...) I meant basically what you just said. Ldglite doesn't create a new copy of the part each time it is used; LDView does. I do this for various reasons, but I believe that when I go back and revisit those reasons now with the advantage of (...) (22 years ago, 21-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: New primitive: chord.dat (not the final name)

Re: What's up with box3#8.dat? (was: BFC parts with BFC-less primitives)

(...) It would have been a nice character, but = is not allowed under MS-DOS The range of special characters possible with MS-DOS are: ! @ # $ % ^ & ( ) - _ { } : ' Which of these are HTLM friendly also ? With friendly greetings, M. Moolhuysen. (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Bad links to homepage.mac.com

FYI: there is a 10.2.3 update. OpenGL is updated to 1.4 in this release. Has anyone else updated and tried LdGLite? I haven't installed it and don't plan to until next week (by then www.macfixit.com should have a good list of problems associated (...)   Re: What's up with box3#8.dat? (was: BFC parts with BFC-less primitives)

(...) Yes - I think the original intent of # was 'in two parallel groups'. How about '='? That will work in a URL. It is almost like two '-'s. Chris (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: What's up with box3#8.dat? (was: BFC parts with BFC-less primitives)

(...) You R-ed C, Chris. Althought is't more correct to say that the missing edges are not *all* adjacent. But I'm a bit afraid that the dash and underscore charcters are to similar and could easely lead to confusion. Are there any other acceptable (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: What's up with box3#8.dat? (was: BFC parts with BFC-less primitives)

(...) Manfred Moolhuysen developed this naming convention and posted (probably to the old lcad list) in May 1998, but I cannot locate a copy right now. IIRC the # was intended to indicate that the missing edges were not adjacent (which is what the (...) (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: What's up with box3#8.dat? (was: BFC parts with BFC-less primitives)

(...) I'll think about box3-8 or something (box with 3 sides, missing 8 lines) I need a similar primitive with all edges along the three sides. That could be named box3-2 (box with 3 sides, missing 2 lines) Niels (22 years ago, 20-Dec-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)
