Yeah -- I personally feel that DOS hates everyone. :-,

You might want to double-check your LDRAWDIR setting. I noteice that there
is a space in your text. If that's exactly how you have it in your
autoexec.bat , it won't work. By way of example, here's exactly how my
LDRAWDIR is set:
set LDRAWDIR=d:\ldraw

Do you see anything after the command help? Here's what I get when I put a
space in my LDRAWDIR setting:
L3P v1.1 19981221 (C) 1998 Lars C. Hassing lch@cci.dk
Usage: l3p [options] modelpath [povpath] [options]
[...yadda...snippage...yadda...]
If povpath is not specified or is a directory, it will be modelfilename + .pov
See also l3p.txt and http://www.netby.net/Nord/Mandelvej/Hassing/l3p.html
*** Environment variable LDRAWDIR must be set to directory with P,PARTS,MODELS.
e.g. 'set LDRAWDIR=c:\Lego\Ldraw' (don't use long names)
You may type the set command at the DOS prompt or put it into AUTOEXEC.BAT
When my LDRAWDIR is set properly, the line with the *** and everything after
disappears.
> And where will the pov file be found once I do it right?
It'll be in the same directory you're in.
Let me know how it works for you!

| (...) ok, I didn't have a space in the set command, in fact it looks just like yours. however, I still get the *** stuff. Does the set command need to go in a specific place? I'm using the dos edit and then editing c:windows\command\eb...toexec.bat (...) (25 years ago, 9-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad)

| Ok, its probably because I'm a dos dummy. I'm sure this is a simple answer, but I'd really appreciate help. Using win98, I got Ledit/Ldraw going fine, got l3p, edited my autoexec.bat with set LDRAWDIR =D:Ldraw, and now I'm stumped. I've been putting (...) (25 years ago, 8-Jul-99, to lugnet.cad)
