  LDTrim

Here is the latest cryptic little utility to stumble out of my LDraw laboratory. Basically it just removes redundant characters and justifies fields. "LDTrim was developed to help pretty-print examples for documentation or discussion, but it could (...) (18 years ago, 10-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Cloth ldraw

(...) When I created the wagon cover I made it drapped, since an flat sheet would work only for BOMs. Furthermore I used color 16 for the main part. I built a frame around the real cover to get the figures, beside recreating the same frame in MLCad (...) (18 years ago, 9-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Cloth ldraw

(...) The minifig cape has also been done up in a draped position. (...) Take a peek at this if you want an idea what's involved in doing sails. (URL) has a nifty interactive simulation, and links to some articles on the math and physics involved. (...) (18 years ago, 8-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Cloth ldraw

(...) Hello! I am a Bricksmith fan too. (...) The only cloth or canvas LDraw part I know of is discussed here: (URL) a wagon cover rather than a sail, however. I suspect a challenge with creating cloth parts is deciding how to shape them since (...) (18 years ago, 8-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) Its not an issue for me, I know how to get round the problem, but I thought it would be useful for you as potential problem other people may encounter. I like to keep the unofficial parts separate so that I know when I create models they will (...) (18 years ago, 7-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parallels Advice

(...) [...] (...) Ahui, Thanks, the detailed analysis helps a lot. I've decided to go with XP. I won't be doing 'life stuff' with XP as I have OSX for that, but I will be installing Windows LDraw tools and playing around. I'll have to look into the (...) (18 years ago, 7-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parallels Advice

(...) Tim over at The Art of Warfare (www.taw.net), gaming clan I'm a member of, we have hd this debate of XP vs Vista since Vista came out. After a 3 month study we are advising members to DOWNGRADE to XP on their gaming rigs espeically those (...) (18 years ago, 7-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) Fair enough (...) I don't have any unofficial parts (well I do but kept separately) so that explains that. I'm not certain what you mean when you say "The next time the program updates a color file", When you create it again using Color (...) (18 years ago, 6-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Parallels Advice

(...) Hello Tim, LD4DStudio (I think you mean that one) works on both xp and vista but in vista the new 'feature' uac might complain during setup and or run. You can fix that by ether not installing in program files (instead use your user profile). (...) (18 years ago, 6-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) I think when / if these features are incorporated into MLCAD, this will work the way that you expect it to. It does not limit / filter your parts for each color. What All Real actually does is combine all of the color.lst files into one (...) (18 years ago, 6-May-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) Tim, Thank you for taking some time to let me know your thoughts. 2a) I'd also like the dropdown color menu to be scrollable with the mouse. My C++ skills (and my time) have not yet allowed this feature. 2b) The missing parts that you see in (...) (18 years ago, 6-May-08, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) Tim, Thanks for your compliments. If your Mac or Unix box has a CAD program that uses the Ldraw parts.lst file, then you can get some of the benefits of the program. The program comes with a folder that contains a bunch of color.lst files. If (...) (18 years ago, 6-May-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Release of Color Manager

(...) I've had a quick play and have a few thoughts 1: its a great idea 2: it seems to work with a couple of provisos. 2a: the dropdown colour choice box doesn't seem to scroll using the mouse but does using the cursor keys 2b: I get missing parts (...)   Re: Using LDraw (and LeoCAD, LDGLite, LDView) on 64 bit Linux?

(...) Apparently it's not too hard to get it to compile under x64. I had a friend using 64 bit debian fetch the latest code from CVS and build it.
