I've heard bad about Vista in the IT community, and I can scrounge an XP license
for free or cheap vs. paying $$ for Vista. Any Vista users out there care to
comment on how the current LDraw suite performs in it? Or any other general
feedback?

Thanks!

As others have stated there are many 'features' that new timers may "think" they
need but really just get in the way!  An advance user like yourself may find
some of the 'features' annoying.  Also you may want to make sure that your
digital camera, printers, scanners, etc... have VISTA drivers or can be sued on
VISTA along with any old software you may be using.

Hope this helps,

Ahui,

Thanks, the detailed analysis helps a lot. I've decided to go with XP. I won't
be doing 'life stuff' with XP as I have OSX for that, but I will be installing
Windows LDraw tools and playing around. I'll have to look into the viability of
Flight Simulator on XP via Parallels, if not, there's always XPlane!
