Additionally, are there any ways to develop visual parts lists for steps
without using LPub? I dont like using raytraced images for instructions--too
many distractions in shading etc. Also, in the raytraced images the doors
arent drawn at the same angle as MLCAD or LDLite has it--I dont know if this
is an issue with the part libraries for the POV-RAY conversion or what. Any
ideas?

This may not exactly be what youre after, but the beauty of raytraced images is
that they can be whatever you want them to be, and they are an order of
magnitude better in quality than those produced by the other programs you
mention. With the right settings you can create instructions that are pretty
close to those produced by Lego®.

attempts. These images are straight out of LPub with no post processing
