  Re: Mechanoid model

(...) That beats out my first. My first LDraw creation was an Autobot I made when I was about 11. Although I don't have a decal to complement him, My Fortress Maximus model stands at about 11-14 bricks tall. Since I built the thing, now I have a big (...)   Re: help! trying to pose mini-fig arms

(...) OK... I tried this. It didn't work. :-( My existing file is called "A.DAT", and i'll call the new, LDraw-friendly file "B.DAT". From the MS-DOS prompt, I typed in: LDLITE -RB.DAT A.DAT and LDLite created a one-line file for B.DAT, shown here (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

  LDraw and spatial awareness

Hello Dave, My name is Don Jessiman. James Jessiman, the author of LDraw, was my son. As you may be aware, James died in July 1997 at the age of 26 years. James' mother and I follow the communications on Lugnet with great interest. We are both (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: help! trying to pose mini-fig arms

(...) right.. LDLite supports the new META command language.. but it was invented after LDraw... to convert the model to standard LDraw format you need to run LDLite on the model with the -R switch.. you have to do this at the DOS command line.. (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

Re: help! trying to pose mini-fig arms

(...) Thanks, Jeff. I've got LDAO loaded, and I just now used the Mini-fig Modeller feature to create a DAT file. :-) Now I've got a _different_ problem. . . . :-/ The DAT file created by LDAO has a whole bunch of ROTATE and TRANSLATE comments in (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)

  LDraw and spatial awareness

I've noticed something peculiar, though it may just be a factor of my own stunted 3D visualization skills. I seem to have become noticeably better at planning Lego projects in my head. I don't mean simple buildings like basic Freestyle houses, but (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Recommended software package

What is the recommended package of utilities I should use when creating/displaying LDraw files. I have LDraw, L3P, MLCAD, and POV-Ray, but I've noticede a lot of references to LDAO, LDLite, etc. as being required or necessary for running other (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-99, to lugnet.cad)
