  LDraw Design Pad v2.0 Released

Get it here: (URL) know there are still a few bugs but based on the feedback it's stable and usable. I'll work on bugs as they are reported or as I find them. Thanks to all the users who provided feedback during the beta process. On a side note, I'm (...) (16 years ago, 3-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad) !

  Re: Smoothing Question

(...) You could inline the subparts so that L3P outputs the triangles as one subpart. This will allow Mesh Enhancer to work on these triangle as one unit. Let me know if you need help with this. -Orion (16 years ago, 3-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Smoothing Question

I'm having some trouble getting a smooth surface on curved parts which do not have an LGEO substitue. Mesh Enhancer does a great job on triangular meshes, however there is a problem in parts with some sort of faceted symmetry. For example, the (...) (16 years ago, 3-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) That seems better than what I get. I had the loading parts window never go away, and when I exited and restarted Bricksmith, it just shows that window for a little bit and then crashes.   Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

My first set of LPub4 instructions

This morning I got back to my first LPub4 based project which I had been working on before the holidays. Actually, it has been done for a while except for one incorrect part which I finally tracked down. I have posted instrutions for my Yellow (...) (16 years ago, 1-Jan-09, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

Since some popular LDraw programs are available for the Mac these days - LDView, LPub, L3Lab, and of course Bricksmith - I think it's only reasonable to provide parts updates in a format readily accessible to Mac users.   Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) When satisfying both is trivial (like here) then you should satisfy both. Personally I would have preferred to dump the executable zip and just leave it as a regular zip. Tim (16 years ago, 31-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) Chris has now changed the zip to include ldraw as part of the paths inside, instead of being rooted inside the ldraw directory, so it now works again with LDView's automatic library install. --Travis (16 years ago, 26-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

Re: Still no zip file for 2008-01?

(...) That's goofy. The content of the library update is a group of LDraw files, not a program. Zip is a common and perfectly reasonable format for distributing such files; it is natively supported on most operating systems I'm aware of. Packing (...) (16 years ago, 25-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Still no zip file for 2008-01?

LDraw Library Update 2008-01 is still posted only as a Windows executable. Why is there not yet an universally-accessible zip file of its contents? Allen (16 years ago, 23-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: POV Coordinate Question

  Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 2nd batch

(...) For sure it would be best to get a file format closer from the original design (.stl for example), to be able to tweak stl2dat parameters for better results. Or to create directly POV versions... Philo (16 years ago, 23-Dec-08, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: L(EGO)Draw parts - 2nd batch
