Re: Stereograms of my Space and Vignette MOCs

(...) I totally agree, Tim. Feels like you're actually in the station, at minifig scale. Now if you could get that effect on LCD-display glasses in real-time video - that would be sweet. (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) Having tried some .mpd files it seems to be a bit selective as to how well it copes. Some sub-assemblies seem to come out perfectly, while others are misplaced and some missing completely. It still works far better than I though it would. I'm (...) (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.cad)

(...) -snip- (...) wow! That's really slick! You nailed what I was thinking about - great job! Joe (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Stereograms of my Space and Vignette MOCs

--SNIP-- (...) Hi Joe, I hope this satisfies. It's all set up now so if you ever want some bigger versions done it's just a matter of render time. (URL) In (URL) and (URL) pairs. Tim (18 years ago, 11-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) Having tried this with a random MOC I had it works a treat. One thing to watch out for tho is that some parts seem to have a different origin in LDD to Ldraw and so will appear out of position. (the particular part I found this on was the (...) (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) Thats even cooler, I have absolutely no problems living without the sub assemblies feature as long as it include the part in the LDD model (yay, all my Ldraw MOCs are .mpds) Tim (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) LDD can load mpd files but it flattens them during the loading process (LDD doesn't support grouping or subassemblies). When you save it out again it will be saved out as a flat list of bricks so remember to keep a backup. -- Marc Sutton Lead (...) (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) I'm assuming that it won't cope with .mpd files in a similar way? Tim (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) I'll get someone to add something to the FAQ page and will put it in a future manual. (...) That's right. -- Marc Sutton Lead Programmer LEGO Digital Designer (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) OK, I have to admit that this seems to work very well. (Well, exporting anyway; importing seems more hit and miss due to part constraints in LDD.) Having said that, I'd like to request here that this be added to the documentation. It's (...) (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Stereograms of my Space and Vignette MOCs

(...) LDView doesn't support orthagonal cameras at all, actually. It supports camera angles as small as 0.1 degrees, which end up looking really close to orthagonal, but it doesn't support orthagonal cameras. I'm assuming Jeffery's original images (...)   Re: Stereograms of my Space and Vignette MOCs

(...) Sorry about that. I still read it the wrong way around... shows how much things are imprinted in our brains. --SNIP-- (...) For anyone interested this is the code. (...) Man - no one spells it right, even when it's right in front of them! Don't worry about it. :) (...) I have POV-Ray v3.6, but to be honest, I haven't spent much time using it - I get LPub to do it for me. I should learn it. Could you get me a (...) (18 years ago, 10-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Bricksmith 1.4: Intel and More

(...) Alas. Could you please send me the crash reports? You'll find them saved at /Users/yourname/Libr....crash.log Just e-mail me that log file; it can provide valuable clues about what is going wrong. Since I haven't seen crashing myself, I need (...)   Re: Stereograms of my Space and Vignette MOCs

(...) And this is what I would like to see some exploration on...what would it look like to see a train lineup as a minifig? Or spacecraft? Tim, your subway stations would be great places to try this! Joe (18 years ago, 9-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Stereograms of my Space and Vignette MOCs

moved to lugnet.cad (...) Hi Jeffrey, I was just trying to render it in 3D such that it would look right if the viewer was a minifig standing on the ground plane. I'm not sure you could replicate it in LDView as it used non-orthogonal cameras. It is (...) (18 years ago, 9-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: LEGO Factory Updated

(...) This is all very promising. There seems to be significant gaps in the available parts, but the conversion from .ldr to LDD format was really quite fast and painless. The creating sets for downloading and buying aside, is it possible to set it (...) (18 years ago, 9-May-06, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

(...) Yah, I figured that out, but it seems there are some parts from the My Trains pallete which are not available... Also, is there anyway to get a part inventory for your current design? --Bram (18 years ago, 9-May-06, to lugnet.cad)
