  LPub problems

Hi Kevin, I'm really sorry if any of these have been brought up before but I have some problems with certain LPub features. a) When generating web pages, LPub references the images as <img src="C:\...\filename.png">. This is, to my knowledge, (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  LPub and margins, margins, margins......

I had added support for callout instance_count support, and when debugging it (for all possible placements around the callout image) things got very messy. I decided to retreat and try again. I rewrote my step packing code (used by both callout and (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Callout a single part

(...) And this works. I use it often. (...) Why are step 8 and 11 unachievable in the current model of LPub using sub-models for callouts? Why do you want a different way to to what you can already do? (...) Can you please explain, in hypothetical (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  LPub bug: Page Number Font

Kevin, Settings to the Page Number Font (font, size and color) are not written to and/or loaded from the config file. Jaco (19 years ago, 15-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Callout a single part

Would it be possible to create a callout for a single part instead of a submodel? This would be useful for decorated parts that are positioned in the model so that you cannot see the pattern. Or parts that are partially "hidden" or that you want to (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Lpub Dual Callout

(...) The suspense is killing me ;o) Thanks Kevin! Philo (19 years ago, 14-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Restrict pars to LEGO set in MLCad?

(...) Sorry Don, I did not intentionally forget ldglite! Must be my age (51 and counting)... Actually, I haven't thought of ldglite as an editor, only as a viewer - maybe you should promote it a bit more aggressively? <downloading now...> Hmm... It (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Restrict pars to LEGO set in MLCad?

(...) John, I've wanted this feature too, especially a few years ago when I was doing a book for a specific set. It would also be handy for "alternate models" like wanted for his train book. I'll add this to LPub. You provide the reference set, and (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Lpub Dual Callout

(...) Philo, You were right. This was directly related to multiple callout usage within multi_step layout. I have fixed and debugged this, and it will be available in the next release. I also added the ability to do layout across a range of pages, (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Buffer Exchange artifact in LPub

(...) <snip> (...) This feature has been added and is debugged. It will be available in the next release. (...) Kevin (19 years ago, 13-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: No PLI in Layout

(...) The fix is in my development version of LPub and will be released soon. Kevin (19 years ago, 13-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Restrict pars to LEGO set in MLCad?

(...) I'm not exactly sure what's happened to Anders' memory, but ldglite has included support for Drag&Drop from ldlist for years now. (URL) can drag the parts into ldglite and save the file for use in mlcad. Or you might be able to paste a set (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Restrict pars to LEGO set in MLCad?

(...) Anders thank you so much for your suggestion. It may not get me all the way but it is a big leap from where I am currently at. :-) Is LDRAW or MLCad open source? If it is I may look into trying to add the functionality to the program if it is (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Restrict pars to LEGO set in MLCad?

(...) Yes, and no. It would be easy to work with real life parts but either as I add each part I will need to add the part in MLCad or once I am done with the model I will need to build it backwards in MLCad while I am disassembling it. The biggest (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Restrict pars to LEGO set in MLCad?

(...) Wouldn't this be best down with "the real thing" and some floor space? At least then you can adjust things easily if you need parts later on and you know exactly what is left. (19 years ago, 12-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Restrict pars to LEGO set in MLCad?

(...) My LDList program (search for LDRAW parts) has the beginnings of this functionality, you can load a set list and only see the parts in that set, and the number of parts remaining, but it does not keep tab of different colours. Unfortunately (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Restrict pars to LEGO set in MLCad?

I would like to build some custom creations in MLCad that could be built using a paticular set. For example say take the LEGO set 7241 "Fire Car" and make a race car out of it. That way when I am done with the custom creations people will know they (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: I am Happy!!! (was Re: Transparent parts (small))

(...) The Delphi library Graphics32 ((URL) can probably be used by C++Builder too. It contains lots of routines for graphics processing, for example downsampling. You can explore different methods there. (19 years ago, 10-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: I am Happy!!! (was Re: Transparent parts (small))

(...) I would suggest (at least initially) to keep it simple. Only support reduction by a factor of two, and then simply average each group of 4 pixels. This should produce a dramatic quality improvement, and be very easy to implement. --Travis (19 years ago, 10-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad)
