  Longitudinal-latitudinal coordinates calulator?

hi folks, does anybody have a clue where I could find a converter/calculator which simply converts my LDraw coordinates into longitudinal-latitudinal values and vice versa? if not could some of the code-gods write down a little piece of prog? no (...) (20 years ago, 16-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Parts editing made easy, anyone?

Update: the converter works and is posted to the top level newsgroup, "lugnet.cad". (URL) to come. We should perhaps move discussions back here to .dev for intricate details like feature requests and bug reports, but you can also send me e-mail, and (...)   Re: Use of arbitrary elements with LSynth

(...) Hi all, I have rewritten much of LSynth's code so that it is table driven. Currently the tables are coded in the program, but the important thing is that definitions of synthesized things are tabular. I've added a string type that uses your (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Parts authoring made easy!

After a couple of days of coding fun, I finally have the ASE to LDR file converter working. It is still not tested for more than a few input files, so there may still be nasty bugs I haven't found, but to my own surprise, it seemed to work right off (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad)

Pneumatic Circuit of Pick and Place Robot

(...) Here's the drawing of the pneumatic circuit of my 4-function Pick and Place robot: (URL) Robot pictures here: (URL) The drawing should make the circuit easy to reproduce, as long as you have enough parts! I've included a state table so you can (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, lugnet.cad, lugnet.announce.moc)

  Re: LEGOTECH-PARTS for Solidworks

(...) Neat package! I knew there were lots of informal SW/LEGO fans out there (SW meaning SolidWorks!). Can I ask a couple of questions? 1. Is there an official English page? Trying to read using an online translator is very frustrating. I really (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

Re: Parts editing made easy, anyone?

I'm replying to my own post to keep a low profile for the time being. The project is not quite finished yet, but I have some good news I'd like to share with you: I now have a working file converter that takes ASE export input from 3dsmax and writes (...)   Re: Sorting by line

(...) IMO, it would be best with a dialog when sorting is requested. Remember all the settings from the last time sorting was used. (...) If there is no choice for the user, I'd say keep them at the top as you do now. A checkbox for removing them (...) (20 years ago, 15-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Sorting by line

(...) It's hard to say what would be best. I personally think that having a dialog with all the sort options along with a quick way to apply the most recently used sort options might be the most flexible. That way, people who use the feature (...) (20 years ago, 14-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Sorting by line

(...) That's what I did in the map I did but if you can make them "sticky" meaning that they stay by some other line in the file (the one that they precede?) that might be interesting. Might not be useful though. (...) Those are good, Also if you (...) (20 years ago, 14-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Sorting by line

(...) Should this be a dialog that pops up when sorting in initiated, in the program options, or something else? The current method I'm using moves all type 0 lines to the top. Should I simply delete them instead? Also, what about sort order? Should (...) (20 years ago, 14-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Sorting by line

(...) I would tend to lean toward the centroid, but perhaps it would be best to be user configurable. --Travis (20 years ago, 14-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Sorting by line

I'm implementing sorting in LDDP. Here's my question: Say I'm sorting by position using Y. When sorting linetypes 2-5 should I take the maximum Y, the minimum Y, the Y value of center of the triangle/quad/line, or something else entirely? -Orion (20 years ago, 14-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Re: ? for the MLCAD Guru's

Mark, My recommendation is to use buffer exchange. Buffer exchange lets you take the current state of the model, and put a copy of it in a buffer. Later you can restore the buffer, and erase any changes made between the store and the retrieve. (...) (20 years ago, 13-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

  ? for the MLCAD Guru's

Is there a way to make a part "disappear" while in step mode and "reappear" later? Here's what I'm trying to do: <step> Part01 is shown <many steps later> Part01 "disappears" to allow viewing of another part's placement which otherwise would be (...) (20 years ago, 13-Feb-05, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)
