  Re: [PT] Moving Letter Bricks

(...) Ah. OK, then - I'll definitely leave all these as a single set, instead of trying to categorize them into the different (known) typefaces. Steve (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Minifig Helmets

(...) Well, unless for some reason you've got a database that can recognize that two parts may be related when they have the same base number. I'm sure I know of a database like that somewhere. :) (...) For whatever reason, the visor was only made (...) (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Parts 3480 and 3481

Creating a model with these 2 parts: - 3480.DAT Rotor 2 Blade Helicopter Tail - 3481.DAT Plate 2 x 2 with Helicopter Tail Rotor Holder I discoverd that: - either the inner diameter of 3480 is too small - or the diameter of the Tail Rotor Holder (...)   Re: Minifig Helmets

(...) put the blame on me ;-) I named them type 1, 2 because 3839A.dat and 3839B.dat are named: Plate 1 x 2 with Handles Type 1 - 3839A.dat Plate 1 x 2 with Handles Type 2 - 3839B.dat the only difference is in the height of the handles. the (...)   Re: Minifig Helmets

(...) Personally, I've thought of the "crash helmet" as the helmet that can accept a visor. You could also use the word "modern" as a descriptor. Thus, my two suggestions for 2446 are Minifig Helmet, Modern Style & Minifig Helmet with Visor Pivots I (...) (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: [PT] Moving Letter Bricks

(...) Is that why blue ink quads on some of the letters is overlapping the background color in certain places? It makes the ends of the letters in 3005-C.DAT and 3005-J.DAT twinkle a bit when you move the bricks around in ldglite. Don (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Minifig Helmets

(...) The single-character suffixes are used, not because parts have multiple versions, but because different parts sometimes have the same number. If a new version of a part comes out with a different number, we'd use the new number when modeling (...) (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts, lugnet.db.brictionary)

  Re: Any Stinkers here?

Hi Mike, (...) I'm not an expert, but I've struggled long enough with it too. Here are some questions & tips: What version of the Ldraw radiosity includes do you have?   Minifig Helmets

Noticed a few odd things about the Minifig Helmets on the Parts Tracker a few weeks ago (URL) first thing I noticed is that the newer version of the original helmet (the thick chinstrap version) has been assigned the new 3DN 593. (...) Sounds like a good idea. To make things even more complicated, I recently won an eBay lot with numbered 3005's with a narrow font I've never seen before!   Re: Any Stinkers here?

(...) I'm no expert, but I'll take a crack at answering this one. The radiosity setting allows for diffuse lighting, so instead of simulating one or more light sources, it simulates ambient light, almost like outdoors. I have used radiosity for some (...)
