Re: Part Fix 3959 Space Gun

(...) Tough call. . .the Bar hierarchy makes the most sense from a geometrical standpoint, but this seems like a Minifig Accessory. BTW, shouldn't there be a keyword "torch", since that is, in fact, what most Castle folks would recognize it as? (...) (22 years ago, 23-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

Part Fix 3959 Space Gun  [DAT]

Since this part is on the PT, I thought I'd add the ribs. I used cone primitives (1-4con7 and 1-4con8, both on the PT) but if someone wants to supply me with appropriate torus primitive I'll use those. Please let me know if this is change of any (...)   Re: New Part in progress - Baseplate 32 x 32 with Craters

(...) Hi Willy, Wow, I am positively impressed. The helmet, and now the crater plate: you are a significant classic space contributor. Save time and effort: a flat bottom is ok for me. Congratulation, Damien (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Animation actions

Hi all, I am currently working on Beta 3 of LD4DModeler, which is mainly about animation editor (Visual timeline editor!) and engine, improvement and extension. I was wondering if someone got some ideas about additional animation actions. Currently (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: Renaming of 2916.dat

(...) Good point. I looked over all the parts in MLCad w/ the Train designator and found that, barring the parts previously mentioned and possibly the track parts, most of them don't even belong in that category (e.g. the doors and windows) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Renaming of 2916.dat

(...) Train in my view is a very narrow group. There are a very few parts that belong in it. I would refer you to the PNLTC originated "diagram of train parts" that many train clubs use to discuss how easy it is to actually get started in trains. (...)   Re: Renaming of 2916.dat

(...) The flip side of this arguement is that while it's only use may not be just for trains, the primary use is for trains. By your argument all the parts with the word Technic and Minifig in the title should be renamed as well. The reason that (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Re: Renaming of 2916.dat

(...) I agree (obviously since you referenced my post as your second ref)! (...) I disagree. That's not the intent. The license that is contemplated to be in effect does not let you as the author prevent people from submitting revisions to parts (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

  Renaming of 2916.dat

I would like to object on the strongest terms possible the "Modified part description" of the part 2916.dat. This is in keeping with my beliefs on how parts should be named. Please refer to: (URL) is not necessarily a train part. Is this file not my (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw)

Re: New Part in progress - Baseplate 32 x 32 with Craters

(...) I like it, very nice work. (...) I think a closed bottom will work as I don't see a functional reason to have it not be (plus the save in file size will be good). -Orion (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.parts)

  Re: Various Cylinder-type Objects  [DAT]

(...) That would be cool. Not as smooth as I'd like, but cool. (...) Hmm. You mean start with <part:3742 Very Small Flower>? No, that wouldn't stack. Maybe <part:4728 flower on a 1x1 round brick>? If it looks like I imagine it might, it could be (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dat.ideas)

New Part in progress - Baseplate 32 x 32 with Craters

hi folks, have a look at the "beta-version" of the part I'm currently working on and tell me what do you think. any suggestions and critical statements are welcome, but please consider that some areas still need a lot of refinement. especially the (...)   RE: High Quality Technic Friction Pegs DATS

(...) It's not just the lip that's missing, it's the little bumps on the pin itself that are missing. I'll grab the new files and give them a look. Thanks for the quck response. Cheers, Ralph (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: High Quality Technic Friction Pegs DATS

(...) Try part 2780.dat. It was released in part update 2002-02. Also, if you want to give some lip to your other Technic Pin-parts, grab the updated (but still unofficial) versions of the connect.dat, connect2.dat, connect3.dat, and connect4.dat (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad)

High Quality Technic Friction Pegs DATS

All, Is there a high-quality DAT out there for Technic friction pegs? The one that comes with the LDRAW package does not have the little ridges that actually provide the friction.... I need these to illustrate a point and have not been able to find (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Description of MLCad extensions available now

Yes of course, but file formats are (AFAIK) not covered by copyright. If Michael wants to protect a file format, he (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)

.LDR file license (Was: Description of MLCad extensions...)

The whole reason for a parts license is to prevent new part authors from asserting arbitrary demands on the (...)   Re: File header questions/requests

This is especially true when parts are renumbered - that new part number needs to be verified, if at all possible. I (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jul-02, to lugnet.cad.dev)
