I have built physically enough of each of the models (some are 100% physically built) that I post on Pallas Spaceworks to make sure that they work (...)       Yeah, I asked you to make more smaller mecha. While were're on the subject of mecha: a) I have just completed 80% of my new Rapid Response Mecha that is about twice the size of my current mecha, it's going to have a white and red paint scheme, b) (...) Yes you are right about the difficulty of building smaller mecha... with larger mecha, you know in the back of your mind that you can always get a *little* bit larger... and technic joints get easier to build the bigger they (...)        Can you send me the .dat file of the mecha, it's okay if you can't or don't want to? I just wanna have a sneak peek!       (...) can (...) Yes, indeed. Colin Gutierrez' Nodatchi mecha has such a good design for small mecha w/pilot... I use variations on that. Anyone have a different good design for small mecha cockpits? Technic joints get easier as they grow larger, but (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

      (...) the (...) I haven't settled on one yet... I'm still trying to get it right. But I am happier with the Panther cockpit than with the previous mecha I've designed...      Actually I have built the "Ryu" mech from the LCad instructions on Karim's site, it is about 95% complete and will stand on it's own (with some careful balancing) as long as the booster "backpack" is not attached.I have made some changes to the (...) I did actually build about 60% of that "booster pack", and it stands up just fine... but It kinda grew a little bit due to aesthetic considerations during the LCADing process... (...)    I agree with you Steve. I like most of the mechs I've seen, but I like them much better if the pictures are real and not just computer generated renderings. I realize that creating a cad version of a lego model often takes as much or more effort (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)

Seeing a photo of an awesome model is always more impressive IMO than seeing an LCAD drawing, especially since LCAD lets you "cheat" and make certain parts in colors (or transparent) that weren't (...) The Designer in me is always interested in pushing the boundaries of what I can do with the fundamental constraints of the Lego Modular Geometry. In my mind, (...)      I second that emotion Karim. Before I knew how to use LDRAW, MLCAD, L3P, and POV-Ray I thought the same as you Mark and Bryan, but once I learned how to use them it opened up a whole new way to enjoy my hobby, not only would my models have the (...)         I'm kinda sorry Mark, got to carried away. To tell you the truth I would like to see more people using LEGO CAD programs, because then I could actually see how peoples models are built, and learn something from it. I agree that models that have pictures taken of them are more-jaw-dropping than a model just made with Ldraw (I just use a regular camera and develop the pictures and get a Photo CD, which gets very expensive).However, I feel that someone who (...) Also, LCAD models can be rendered from any view with any background and always completely in focus. Photographing models requires good lighting, a (...)      It's not an issue of incompetence... I know how to use LDRAW, and I often use LEOCAD to design things that I don't have the pieces for... but I still prefer "true" building to CAD modeling.
