Actually I have built the "Ryu" mech from the LCad instructions on Karim's
site, it is about 95% complete and will stand on it's own (with some careful
balancing) as long as the booster "backpack" is not attached.I have made some
changes to the design however to get more strength and articulation and to
work around parts shortages but most of Karim's design is clearly there.
By the way I would like to thank Karim for taking the time to make LCad
instructions of his models and all of you who do so, thank you.
Looking forward to your site update(now if only instructions for that
transforming dragon mecha would magically appear!)

Well, yours (which are pretty cool!) are not rendered either...you've got
digital pictures of them...standing...so it's obvious they're capable of
vertical attitude.  The ones I'm talking about are the ones that _aren't_ • built
first.

It doesn't _really_ bother me anyway - like I said, many of them are still
absolutely fantastic...it's just a hair more impressive when they're the • real,
solid article.

Steve, You may be referring to some of my models... which are all rendered
images... I have built physically enough of each of the models (some are
100% physically built) that I post on Pallas Spaceworks to make sure that they
work physically (as well as stand on their own)... In many cases, I don't have
enough pieces in the right colors to built the full model, which is when I
switch to LCAD.

But.... I do have a mecha that I built several months ago, that I will post
soon (in another really huge Pallas Spaceworks update)  which was built 100%
physically in the right color scheme before being rendered... In fact, I still
have it built, because I like it so much... :)

It is built around a weapon design that I built some 2 years ago, and until
now, couldn't figure out what to mount it on...  I think you will all be
pleased :)

(...) Ahem... Yes, well, I can see that that might be a problem... I did actually build about 60% of that "booster pack", and it stands up just fine... but It kinda grew a little bit due to aesthetic considerations during the LCADing process... (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.build.mecha)
